WILLINGHAM: AUF'D

Ty's done at Washington. Coaching the rest of the season in the [NAME REDACTED] arrangement, but will not find a job before then like [REDACTED] did.

You gonna eat that? I gotta start economizing.

  1. Jim Mora jr. already slotted to be the next head coach for the Seahawks, so could get interesting.
  1. Chris Peterson. Beat Oregon in Autzen, so that should be enough to endear himself to the Husky faithful

Two-for-Two Dept:

Washington is racist too, like Notre dame.

At least Ty was honest…“we didn’t win enough games.”

O, with all these CFB openings, we need to get the ball rolling for The Orgeron to nab one of the jobs.

Ouch. And with an ND pic, too.

Gen. Stoopnagle thinks west coast dawgs go after Peterson as the most logical choice. Why would UW go NFL-retread and sink lower into despair?

Michael Kors didn’t like the pleated pants Ty wore during the Notre Dame game and Nina thought he could spice up his windbreaker with some sparkles, hence the reason he is auf’d. His record has nothing to do with it, you have to look good to coach in the Pacific Northwest.

What program is pathetic enough to take me an has golf courses around to support my habit? Hmm, San Diego State here I come!!!

So is Notre Dame still racist now that it has been revealed that Willingham is just a god awful coach?

by YoGel on Oct 27, 2008 4:09 PM EDT reply actions

I’m an ND grad and went to the game on Saturday at Husky Stadium. The seats where they put visitors are laughably bad. They are worse than typical end zone seats because there is a track between the end zone and the seats, ruining any chance for perspective or proximity.

So my buddy and I zipped up our ND colors and headed to the Washington student section and found much, much better seats, and where we joined the students in cheering sarcastically for UW. They got most upset when Notre Dame had 4th and long with 50 seconds to go in the first half and Ty did not use a time out (he had two TOs). A saw several Husky players approach Ty on the sideline, lobbying him to use a timeout and give them a chance to get on the board.

It was pretty hilarious though… a few of my favorite lines:

“All he does is run straight into people!”
—student talking about UW’s punt returner

“Oh my god! He finally wrapped up!”
—student, after a UW cornerback made an unspectacular tackle

“Shut the fuck up, You suck!” (x 1,000)
—chorus of students, during a public service announcement about cancer research starring Coach Willingham

yoyofutbawl, Honest with that part. I think he may be slightly off in his overall assessment of the program though,
“It’s a good strong program for someone to jump into and do things.”
And why keep him on until the end of the season? What possible good will that do?

Kevin,

That would be your only hope to avoid the comeuppance that CNMFS is undoubtedly going to deliver to Sling Blade and the rest of the coonasses. Unfortunately for you mouthbreathers, it ain’t happening.

Our long national nightmare is over. I guess we won’t have Willingham to kick around anymore.

Notre Dame is the second happiest university today.

In overwhelming joy (over this announcement), Irish backers have busted more collective nut than John Holmes did during his entire career.

Every blog that involves Notre Dame will say something about this, while at the same time calling ESPN, Mark May, and John Saunders gay.

God bless our first amendment rights (though Ty may not agree).

I wonder if Jim Mora Jr will get his wish since 2 years ago when he was coach of the Falcons he went on Seattle radio and publicly campaigned for the job.

He is the coach in waiting for the Seahawks job, but I’d rather coach collegiately than Pro. He is a Washington guy.

Is any competent coach desperate enough to try to undo this mess?

by DenverGregg on Oct 28, 2008 11:47 AM EDT reply actions

  1. and #21:

A lot of ND folks were still “kicking” Ty around as late as early Saturday evening.

Then the game started. Washington was so inept, so poorly prepared, so uninspired – with 6:30 left in the game, the Huskies had 55 total yards of offense and hadn’t crossed midfield – that we had far more pity for UW and their fans than anything else.

The Apple Cup will rival the ’87 Kansas-Kansas State game in football atrocity.
