APOLOGIES, BUT WE CANNOT RESIST.

Like a tractor beam, it draws us in: this is not a political blog, and we guard the comments with a monofilament whip and hot iron, ready to flail at the slightest foray into the extremely thorough short course in failed rhetoric and claptrapped thought that is any political argument on the internet. If you'd like to display your ability to unthink, please, do it somewhere else.

Meanwhile, we're fans of deliberately atrocious copywriting no matter where we can find it, be it on a Penn State practice report, or in a seemingly innocuous bit of video about the Republican vice presidential candidate.

The copywriters of the world, you do have your moments to shine. (HT: Weo)

Glad my industry can be of service. My guess is it’s about 100 to 1 against that the writer didn’t know what they were writing.

Covering a political campaign for weeks on end must be duller than a best of 7 game series betwee Auburn and Mississippi.

Dogtown – make that Auburn and Missy State.

When you get to be her age you have to turn to DVDA to get any work, so I guess it makes sense.

She’s had 5 kids. So, I’m guessing 100 or so people attended.

The one issue Sarah Palin simply MUST address is: I want to see her naked

I know that political parties always talk about being a large tent, but I’d never thought of that as being a labial penumbra.

Wonder if McCain & Palin have considered stealing an idea from the movie Major League and setting up a life-sized cardboard cutout of Palin at every voting precinct?

Every vote for their ticket and a little square of clothing gets peeled away. Might be their best chance to win at this point.

Sarah Palin drew 5,000 In Beaver, according to video. I have two questions,

1-Is that a word record? and

2- How can a town in the sticks of Western PA draw 5,000 cotton-pickers to anything?

Sarah is the kind of flapper that has men, even the ones gumming their oatmeal this morning at the home, going gaagaa.

You should have seen this Beaver crowd. Every one of them, a bush supporter.

Almost as bad as when my college hosted the Div. II national championship in Track and Field and the sports writer talked about a thrower overcoming a bulging dick in her back.

yep. retract that.

Palin’s Beaver appearance undoubtedly caused a local rise in the polls.

Who knows, maybe a couple weeks from now we’ll see a story about how the Obama-Biden campaign employed a massive group of South Carolina students to get out the vote and score a major upset in the Palmetto State.

Wait for it . . .

That is hysterical — my fiance was born and raised in Beaver, PA, I’ve been there several times. His favorite anecdote about the area is that there is a town called Big Knob in Beaver County, PA. And if you’ve ever played drunk trivia in Atlanta and wondered which group is “Beaver Diving Team”… well that would be us. And yes, his high school did have a diving team with shirts made and everything.

And to those who say it’s in the “sticks” of Pennsylvania, it’s only about 30 minutes north of Pittsburgh… definitely a small town but not exactly the sticks. I’ve seen the sticks of PA — where the Amish live, and still speak with thick German accents because of their isolation from “the rest of” America.

A Two-Fer-No-Fer Dept:

Wow….On this Friday, there are two usual EDSBS no-no’s…Politics and Bunda. Amazin’ as Pretty Sarah would say, droppin’ the "g"s.

This is why South Carolina must play Oregon State….
it would be a copywriters dream….I know its well documented, but it sooo fun….
Beavers beat up by Smelley Cock…..and the beat goes on…….or Beavers pound Cocks brains out….

Great Idea Part 2 Dept:

#19: Great idea, the Beavers already ripped the Trojans earlier this year.

I drove through there in 1994 and remember that an interstate exit sign had both “Beaver” & “Moon” on it. You went left to go to Moon & right to Beaver. God, Pennsylvanians are sooooo smart.

The only thing better is in the Triad area of NC (Winston/Greensboro) where you drive east through Horneytown to get to High Point to get to Intercourse.

by yoyofutbawl on Oct 24, 2008 1:53 PM EDT reply actions

Agreed… Beaver is not in the sticks. The sticks of PA are where, if you take a wrong turn on the way to Intercourse, you will end up in either Blue Ball or Bird-in-Hand. No joke, Lancaster County, PA.

Not so much a commentary on politics as on the freak-show that is a certain SEC East’s support base…

Has EDSBS noticed that the chunky white girl who falsely claimed to have been attacked by a black Obama supporter was not only sporting an inverted “B” on her cheek, but also a creamsicle-orange “TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS” sweatshirt while being led from a PA police station in handcuffs?

Another luminary Vols supporter!
