FEEL DAT ISLAND FLAVAH, MON! “Aggressive” coaching=profanity. Tony Franklin, ever the shy and retiring lily of a man, finally decided after two whole weeks to tell his side of the story. It turns out he was just too darn aggressive for those genteel offensive types at Auburn, what with his heartfelt aggression and MAD GENYUS COCHIN’ SKEEME, and that it just didn’t work out. Also, there was no fight on the way out, and that the mark on his head featured in fan-fiction across the internet could not possibly have been the result of being altercated. “I have a huge hole in my head from when i had cancer when i was 23 years old,” he said. “That’s the only mark that I have. I’m 51. I can’t altercate anybody.” Franklin also said Tuberville was “hands-off” with his offense. Imagine that. It doesn’t show on the field. Everything is wrong about this piece. Read only if you want one of the stranger indications of the collapse of Western Civilization. One and a half arms will do, thank you. Cincinnati QB Tony Pike fell yesterday in practice and felt no pain in his left arm, which is really, really awesome, considering it’s broken and has pins in it. One and a half arms is all a quarterback needs, really. Tartt-ed up. Jim Tartt, Florida senior lineman, will miss another game with his jacked-up shoulder, which keeps him out for Kentucky, but may get him operational for the Georgia game. Emmanuel Moody is slightly better, and merely doubtful for the Kentucky game, though Urban Meyer says he “may see some reps.” Demps and Rainey, the midget quarkbacks, are both present and accounted for, meaning more Quantum Wing offense from Florida. (Werner von Heisenberg is not complaining.) |

Remember in the Spurrier era that the week before GA was always a bye. I’m not sure why that hasn’t followed in the Meyer Regime. Hopefully we can create an insurmountable lead and put someone not named Tebow in under center. You know you’re neurotic when you’re afraid of Kentucky.

Ok, Im comfused…
I thought Demps and Rainey were FLA’s electron-fast midget running backs.
You mean they can throw now too?

I listened to that interview and I came away from it feeling bad for any assistant coach that isn’t part of that “inner circle” of Tubs. You gotta imagine that its a tough situation to be in when you really don’t talk to the head coach more than a few times a week during the season.

I could only read the first page of the Per-woo article. It was just too sad to go on after that. Tebow, Colt, Daniels, Bradford, even Dick after we saw the little number that he is going to marry, but Per-woo. My, the dark days are upon us.

Heisenberg, however, would complain about Meyer making statements about the state of his injured players, since observing them like that would necessarily change their state…

That would be “quarkback” not quarterback. Though each is fast enough to throw a 15-20 yd. pass to himself.

If I had crappy plastic paneling like that in my house, I would consider an outdoor location for filming my homage to Harry Belafonte. But perhaps SC fan was overwhelmed by not having to face a coach his team was 2-7 against, and the muse simply moved in him.

Strange how Cockfans’ last two proclaimed saviours couldnt even beat a bad coach like Bowden.
And now what will they do when we get a good coach at Clemson….?

Mullen does not call plays. He puts particles in motion at high enough compression levels such that an energetic reaction is more likely.

As a mom of a child with autism who attends Mitchell’s Place–mentioned in the article– (I can’t say enough amazing and wonderful things about that place), that story had me in tears–the kind that come when you take joy in small triumphs. This article let me know that positive growth happens every day–not only for a 4 year old with autism, but for a young man who seems to be trying to get back on the right track and recognized the impact of being someone’s hero.
Thank you for sharing. Made my day.

Never posted here before, but figured now is good as any. I love how USC fans are always quick to show how they are superior (sp? long day an it’s only noon). They are in a league, where yes the football is decent some of the time, where they get there ass handed to them all the time, where they left a conference because the same thing happened before, and they love to talk trash about a supposed rival who is up 2 to 1 overall since the early 20th century. Seriously, where do they breed these people?

They did not leave the ACC because they were getting their talis handed to them, which for the most part they were.
They left because we, the ACC, would not lower our academic standards in terms of lowering the minimum standardized test scores and GPAs. Back then the ACC had academic standards higher than the Big 8, SWC, SEC, and Big 10.
Paul Dietzel does a great interview on the ACC 50th Anniversary DVD where he talks about how the best players in SC were going to play in the Big 10 or Big 8 due to lower academic standards, and South Carolina thought that the Big 4 were discriminating against them.
Basically, USC admitted that we have more academically deficient athletes in SC than NC, Va, Md, etc, and that they could not be competitive unless standards were lowered.
Proud day to be a Gamecock, for certain. Of course, there have been so many proud days in their past, so they probably all just run together.

The story about the autistic child should be a lesson to all those who label young men that they have never met as thugs. “Thug” to the football fan means a young man, usually black, that plays for a rival team. He is more “thuggish” if he happens to be good.

in South Carolina’s defense, their educational system isnt exactly as up to par as some of the other states, especially when you think that the acc has more private schools than a lot of conferences. At the time, 2, but UVA, UNC, and GT aren’t your avg land grant university.
