COLT MCCOY HAS BEEN HIT HARD MANY TIMES IN DISGUSTING FASHION

Colt McCoy has to have taken more late hits and cheap shots than any current starting qb in college football. Perhaps it's something about the Texas offense and the way they run their quarterback; perhaps it is a hopefully abandoned habit of holding onto the ball too long; perhaps McCoy just smells like fear and cookies and brings out the Darwinian aggression in opposing defenders.

The reasons are beyond our understanding, both because we don't have the time or space to investigate the question properly, and because we can't do math. Therefore, if you are a Colt McCoy fan, and do not wish to see his shit get rocked repeatedly and painfully in many horrendous variations, please do not watch any of these.

Contrarily: If you smell fear and cookies just reading this, you may want to click through and enjoy.

Star-divide

Bonus: Kate Bush REEEEEEEEMIIIIX!!!

Kellen Heard dances about in Colt’s dreams as a maniacally-grinning 500 lb. human/ursine rapebeast.

Must be something about being named Colt that attracts hard hits. (Re: Bowl, 2008 Sugar op cit).

Did Peter put you up to this to get back at eric penderson and all those nasty things he said about that life-saving sum bitch from Tuscola?

Was last year’s game against the Aggie a Kellen-Heard-chop-block festival? I can’t remember – still had the Itis. On a side note, things don’t seem to be going as well for captain toughtastic this year.

If McCoy is even lucid enough to speak in complete sentences at the end of his career, he should consider it a minor victory in and of itself.

Colt has taken a tremendous number of terrible hits. The injury he suffered two years ago against Kansas State ruined what was promising to be an outstanding season, both for the team and for him.

Part of the problem is bad luck, part multiple personal fouls on the part of tAMU, and part an offensive coordinator (Greg Davis) who seems to delight in exposing Colt to needless risk.

It is something of a miracle — and testament to his commitment — that Colt is now having as good a season as any current quarterback in college football.

If all those licks add up tomore wins this year and the next, I’ll take it.

That OU clip still really pisses me off. Paul is a douche. It doesn’t matter if he heard the whistle or not, a rule is a rule, and that’s a penalty.

Well, Orson, that was just ugly.

  1. Agreed. I’m also not thrilled about this year. We still do not have a strong, consistent running game and they depend on McCoy too much. We really haven’t a good test to see how good we actually are. The offensive line play at CU makes me nervous about Saturday.

Oh, yes, The Batt. The same crappy paper that trashed the current team and said they would be lucky to win one game. Unfortunately, that may be the case this year, but the paper overall is on a very low-grade level.

And for that hit, it appeared low and dirty. Or maybe Heard was deaf or he was just too stupid to understand the rules as they apply to the game. The Aggies on the list can enlighten us if it is the former or the latter.

Colt McCookie. Delicious. If you like your cookies with blood, grass, and broken teeth mixed in.

meh, Tebow takes hits like that all the time. Except he can turn around and deliver them too.

by bj on Oct 7, 2008 6:11 PM EDT reply actions

jesus, I piddled in my pants a little bit just watching some of those hits.

If he ends up shaking like Muhammed Ali later in life, I would completely understand. Even if it has nothing to do with anything other than just being fearful that granny at the mall is gonna corner blitz me from the blindside.

Rudy Carpenter is not impressed.

#11, Heard’s hit looked to be pretty damn late. Fran sent a letter of apology, so we’re cool.

And yeah, the Batt is garbage.

#7, it could be the mezcal IV drip that I had put in after the Arkansas State game, but I don’t recall any Ags being flagged for personal fouls against Cart other than Heard. What am I forgetting?

It probably is partially related to the system. Didn’t Chris Simms get his bell rung a few times while he was wearing burnt orange?

After this game, Colt was made to point at a doll and say “Kellen Heard touched me here and…..here.” [sobbing]

Orson, the “Kate Bush REEEEEEEEMIIIIX!!!” was a nice touch. Colt is a man – and he’s not forty!

The uterus painted at midfield goes very well with the Kate Bush.

  1. Be sure to send a shout out to Coach Fran for that apology.

Why has no one drawn the connection between this mindless violence towards young Colt and his publicly stated aversion to not only alcohol but all carbonated beverages?

Coca Cola is watching, and they are not amused.

Ah yes #10, hoping for the cheap shots to knock Colt out of the game. Maybe Peter Ullman can play a game of “Hey how’s your father” with DeMarcus Granger’s knee, that is if Granger is playing and not pilfering suede coats from the Casual Male B&T store in the Galleria.

A disgrace to the name. A real Colt would take a gunshot to the brain after falling like that.

I’ve had a bit of a soft spot for Texas ever since their helping hand in ‘96. But it looks like Colt must have lots of soft spots, after all that tenderizin’…

@21 couldn’t happen to a nicer guy/program

I’m an OU fan but I just gained a heck of alot of respect for that kid. Those hits were vicious. The one where he got leveled walking back to the huddle they should have kicked that kid off the team. Austin English’s hit was not intentional, you could tell he didn’t hear the whistle. Hang tough Colt!

by Shepard on Oct 8, 2008 7:38 AM EDT reply actions

On the Kellen Heard hit, McCoy threw an interception to Mark Dodge. Heard saw the pick and spun around to block someone and there was McCoy wandering towards the sideline. Based on all the videos I’ve seen (and I’ve seen a lot of breakdowns of this play), Heard hit McCoy as Dodge was getting tackled. A couple other horns were blocked at about the same time, and significantly harder.

In any case, Heard shoved McCoy (hard) rather than driving through for the big time hit it could have been, it was just unfortunate that it was McCoy’s bad shoulder (reinjured earlier in the game when Chris Harrington forced a fumble). Heard played to the whistle, McCoy didn’t.

What I really gained respect for in the Kate Bush clip was KSU’s D, I hope our admittedly crappy line does a better job of protection than that.

Ankf00…..38-30 bitch……we still have the scoreboard…..oh Cart shouldn’t have been taking his helmet off during play on the field that’s a 15 yard penalty dumbass.
