It is called the Hambone or spread option, PJ hates when it is called the flexbone. (but yeah I call it the flexbone myself). Before this offense becomes the next big trend in college football, PJ will win :GASP: a national championship at GT, mark it down!

I think GT will win about 8 games this year. Gardner Webb, UVA, and then split the games with unc, miami, clemson, and fsu. with prolly ending up beating miami and unc. that'd be my gut guess based on what ive seen.

I'd love to see this kind of shit again in Lincoln.

Fuck the forward pass.

Except when it's a play action pass to the TE for 18-25 yards.

those turnovers are always going to be there in the wishbone, sorry. penalties you might be able to fix. but the point still stands that if vt is stumbling around and winning on accident, and you lost to them, it's not helping the cause any.

#17. Without getting to far into the details, GT put up 400 yds on VT (against a defense that has given up 299 yds/g in the other 5 games) and outgained them by 150 but turnovers and penalties did us in.

We're actually running the offense pretty effeciently when you consider that only 2 of the current players (Shaw and Peeples, both backups) were recruited to play in it. Compare it to 2 other teams that changed coordinators in the offseason (Auburn, UT) but didn't change the scheme as dramatically, it's pretty damned impressive.

Where did you tailgate down by the Georgia Dome? Midtown Atlanta is not the ghetto it was say 20 years ago anymore. There are plenty of nice places to tailgate on and around campus.

#1 - keeping up with the unwashed masses are we?

Georgia Tech has had 8 scoring drives of less than 2 minutes already this year, and another 6 that were in the 2-2 1/2 min range.

Orson, I just wanted to apologize that I didn't get a chance to come over during the game to ask for an autograph--it wasn't fair for you to have to feel like less of a celebrity than the cooking show guy with you...

Well yeah, if you tailgate near any of the Hobo Grotto-style parks near the fringes of campus, it's gonna reek of piss, Olde English, and BO. The tailgating spots inside campus are fine. I tailgate between the civil engineering and mechanical engineering buildings, and we've never had any vagrants come through, just scalpers.

After 6 years of playing not to lose and finesse football, it's a refreshing sight to see the entire team play with a big, big nasty streak and a chip on their shoulder. Tyler Melton and Greg Smith need a refresher on downfield blocking (esp. Smith) but Demaryius Thomas just loves to hit people and it shows. Great downfield blocking from him.

The aggressiveness and solid tackling in the secondary is a welcome sight too. They're not arm-tackling and they're not left on an island because everyone else is blitzing. The whole unit, especially true frosh safety Cooper Taylor, is hitting like a ton of bricks. I didn't think you could get a defense that looked more aggressive than Tenuta's "BLITZ, MOTHERFUCKERS" scheme, but this one is way nastier just because they're beating the snot out of everyone, not just QBs. They just seem blood-thirsty out there.
