Domer here, c/o 98. Hudi, my apologies–”guest” is an idiot. ND isn’t for everyone, and good on you for deciding that and moving on.

ND has some hotties (I married one) but the percentages are way below ESSEEEESEEE levels. Or most anywhere, for that matter. And it’s amazing how much hotter they get when May starts and the shorts/skirts come out. Unfortunately, school ends right after that…

@27 � Classic solipsistic Domer rant. 95% of Domers love it there; more power to them. In my case, making the best of it was getting good grades and transferring out (not to Fredo�nine months at Notre Dame was more than enough to convince me that a Catholic school was a terrible fit for me�but to a better academic school).

RE: Lack of Female Persuasion in the Vandy Mug Shots….

I saw the AP copy come across the wire after it happened and I think the event in question was a fraternity camping trip, not a house party. Sort of a guys-only, He-Man-Woman-Haters Club thing. I know there are a fair amount of girls at Vandy (many of them hot…smart chicks in the South aren’t allowed to be ugly). More than Gay Tech, anyway.

The ratio at ND is better than 50-50, plus you have SMC across the street. Pretty much you have to be either a complete loser or gay to not get any from a girl at ND/SMC. I’ll go with the first, as a guess.

Second, it seems you value your friend’s mom’s opinions (shallow as they are) and your friends from Fredo. Tell your friend’s mom to keep staring in the mirror at her freakin Botox. Your friends from Fredo – just remember, are good Sunday Catholics. 6 days a week, they are happy to stab you in the back.

ND is a better place WITHOUT YOU. Going to ND isn’t a 4 year decision, it’s a 40-year decision.

@8 � One Saturday freshman year at ND, I stopped by my parents� tailgate. (My father is an alumnus, and they go to all the home games.) One of my mom�s friends was attending the game with them. She surveilled the parking lot, turned to me and said, �The girls here ARE dogs.� It�s pretty telling when a 50-year-old housewife with daughters of her own feels compelled to criticize a school�s coeds.

I also have a friend who road-tripped to Notre Dame with classmates from Boston College. Somewhere in western Ohio they bought a piglet at a farm. At their tailgate, they used snow fence to create a little pen and let the piglet roam around in it. Key detail? They had spray-painted �ND chick� on the piglet.

Thank God I transferred out of there. Best decision of my life.

Yes, that’s one of Mike Golic’s sons. He has another one that’s committed to ND for the 2009 recruiting class. He, also, has a daughter that’s reportedly a primo swimmer but I think is only 14 or 15 years old.

The relative good looks of the ND girls aside (and really, mug shots are rarely flattering), at least there were girls at the party. I don’t see how Vanderbilt can be declared the winner . . .
