It's pointless, because this thread has faded on to the 2nd page, but I felt I should have said that Bama won in Shreveport last year.

“At least my Buckeyes don’t lose to the unranked. They only lose in spectacular fashion to the highly ranked”

tOSU’s NC losses over the past two seasons were to teams that had a combined 3 losses in SEC play. If LSU lost two games in conference last year, how many would have Ohio State lost if they were in said conference? Also keep in mind that LSU needed practical miracles to beat Florida, Alabama, and Auburn last year. Would have Ohio State even made a bowl last year if they played in the SEC? Alabama didn’t, and they were a couple of fumbles away from beating the eventual national champion.

I think no one goes undefeated this year. But it's hard to imagine OSU getting enough love from the pollsters given the Bucks' recent history in big non-conference games.

Bama - Socratic et al

No team is ever as good or bad as they seem, except Syracuse. If you insert a seasoned Terrelle Pryor and a healthy Beanie Wells, the offense is better by multiples. The NCG is really only possible with the total collape of many teams in front of us, like last year.

SC had their chance to control their destiny and fucked up. They aren't out of the national picture because they aren't the only team to lose to an unranked opponent. They just had the good sense to lose on the road. I'm sure they don't want to rematch with a "new" tOSU that will see them again next fall in Columbus.

But if the Buckeyes win out in convincing fashion, they will get no credit for a mid-season QB switch, beating Wisconsin at night in Madison, or beating a PSU team that everybody today thinks is for real, until tOSU wins. Then everyone will talk how overrated PSU is, though they may only lose one game. This season looks to be very compelling.

As far as meeting Bama, somebody is going to be our first SEC victim in a bowl game, may as well be you guys.

@ 21 - Georgia didn't lose to an unranked team either; it lost to a team that may very well be as good (although certainly not as deep) as USC. OSU got dropped 9 spots after USC; UGA got dropped 8 spots after Bama (sure, we're tied for 10th with USF, but they didn't get anally raped over the weekend). The biggest difference is that USC then went out a dropped one to an unranked team. That is why I'll be rooting for Bama to roll everyone else this season as well.

Crabapple-

Let's be real honest here, you were missing a RB not a QB so while its a devastating loss its not like you were screwed for the get go, additionally, Florida lost by 1 on a blocked XP, OSU could have lost by 50 and probably would have if Carrol didn't play the 2nd and 3rd string the entire 4th quarter.

Another Ole Miss personally witnessed fish hooked-throat gagged-hate fucked roundup:

1) So nice to be the only Gator alum in a family whose Ole Miss alumni list includes father, mother, brother, uncle, uncle, cousin, cousin, grandfather, grandmother, and 3rd cousin (off the top of my head). Hearing about Eli Manning, at least once, 90% of every waking day for 3 years was fantastic. This? EVEN BETTAR!

2) Surprised at the police presence and overauthority, Rebba fans? So was my sister on her first visit to the Swamp. I'm not sure "impressed" would be the word to describe her emotional state when I pointed out the Florida Highway Patrol, Alachua Sheriff's Department, and University PD flavors as they poured onto the sidelines. Anybody that's ever attended school in Gainesville, and was there, also knew that the Gainesville PD must have been left out because somebody's gotta patrol the streets for open containers.

3) Jerrell fucking Powe. Unbelievable. The dumbest human in the entire fucking stadium was giving his version of the "loser" symbol to us seated in the endzone. It was an unholy mix of the "thumb to nose and wiggling your fingers" thing from childhood, and the "L" sign with the back of the hand to the forehead. Basically, it was the "L" sign, but with the thumb to the forehead and the fingers not wiggling. Does that even mean anything?!? Did Powe just break fresh ground in the physical gesture taunting world?

Summary: Pain.

Florida and Georgia lost AT HOME. in fact, Georgia was humiliated AT HOME. They both should drop like a stone in my opinion. You don’t lose to Ole Miss at home, and you don’t go down 31-0 to anyone at home.

USC did lose, but on the road. Ohio State lost to a top team, on the road, and dropped further than anyone else did. No sense.

Pants, you are correct. Had tOSU done what UGA or UF did, we would have been dropped from the rankings. If any other team had to play without their best player and start what amounts to a backup, they would suffer the same fate as tOSU in LA. The difference is that SC and the SEC teams get a pass. PSU will be hyped until we smoke them in Columbus, again, then everyone will say that they are overrated.

Go ahead and polish those turds Georgia and Florida. At least my Buckeyes don’t lose to the unranked. They only lose in spectacular fashion to the highly ranked. Now we fly under the radar. We may get a rematch with SC again in the Rose Bowl, and with Terrelle Pryor and a healthy Beanie Wells, that Rose Bowl win will be no surprise to me. Should SC get the nod for the NCG, I’m sure this would be a good year to face an SEC team in that same Rose Bowl.

I hate having to take solace in not being alone in shitting the bed. The most annoying thing about it all is that Bama wil probably end up dropping two or three games down the line and I'll wonder how the fuck Georgia managed to get raped by John Parker Wilson. Just shows that no pressure and soft coverage can make almost any quarterback look good. Georgia still has the potential to win out, but if the pass rush remains spotty at best it ain't gonna happen.
