And his best quote was delivered 3 or 4 years ago when Boise State was playing Georgia. Jablonski absolutely fell apart, threw 3 or 4 interceptions and they were losing something like 28 – 0. The obligatory female sideline reporter pulled up alongside the Hawk and asked what happened that they were so far behind.

After visibly restraining himself: “Did you SEE the first half?” Nothing else….gone.

“I lie around on my couch and scratch my balls just like everyone else.”

His candor is unnerving.

“It’s because the players who arrive at college unprepared to work are largely black, and most of the players who play basketball are what? Black, right?”

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – it is extremely hard for me to dislike a nutzo like Dan Hawkins. Even if it turns out he’s not the right guy for Colorado, which I doubt he isn’t, he’s at least the most entertaining guy they could have gotten.

Dan Hawkins makes Mike Leach look focused and boring.
