Very classy, Orson. Thank you for your tribute to Eddie Crowder today on EDSBS. Beyond his accomplishments on the field, Coach Crowder was an even better ambassador of the University. It has been a pleasure over the past two years to see Coach Hawkins reach out to Eddie and incorporate him back into the program. The Boulder Daily camera reports that the Buffaloes will paint “Eddie” on to the twenty yard-lines of the field in memory of his many contributions to the State, the School and beyond. Godspeed, Eddie.

Keep in mind Coach Crowder was two years younger than Bobby Bowden and he stopped coaching 35 years ago (when Bowden was at West Virginia).

Crowder was a Sooner player post-WWII and played under Wilkinson and that Sooner dominant Big 7 era.
