austiger will watch Southern Miss give Auburn fits on the laptop while he makes gumbo.

Splitting time between the couch and recliner in Charlotte, hoping Hanna stays away because I have a window that leaks. A leak in Charlotte? Who would have guessed? Ha ha ha h.. okay never mind.
My slate of games looks a lot like Orson’s. I’ve got two TVs (technically; one’s a computer with a TV card plus a monitor) in the living room for these very purposes.
I will not be catching any games on ESPN360 because Thanks Time Warner! Thanks so much!! Luv ya bunches!!!! XOXOXO

I wouldn’t use Gary Barnett for bait. But to see him puking into a nor’easter might make my day.
The plan:
0900 – Miami U @ Meecheegan *and* Eastern @ State.
1230 – Central @ UGa, go Chips!
1530 – Golden Bears @ Husky Dogs
1600 – NU @ Dook, Webradio only (fuck the ACC, Silverlight, and everything else from Microsoft)
By 7pm PT, I should be either in bliss, or looking for a new bucket of kittens…

12:00 – bourbon @ 283 Bar; enjoy scenery
12:30 – hot dog from a street vendor at the corner of College and Broad
1:00 – back to Bissett’s to buy a friend a hurricane — and to drink more bourbon; enjoy scenery
2-ish – wander the streets and drink more bourbon at random bars; enjoy scenery
2:30 – walk through campus; marvel (yet again, after 17 years) that walking past the law library without going in no longer puts a knot in my stomach
2:45 – duck into undisclosed, out-of-the-way nook on campus, mere feet from gameday foot traffic, so buddy can get just a little more taste and smell
3:00 – suck down one last cigarette before heading into 100% smoke-free Sanford Stadium; enjoy scenery
3:15ish – sing Alma Mater and get a little misty over the fact that my parents’ seats next to mine are now occupied by two fat-assed strangers
3:30 – KICKOFF

7:00: Miami/Florida.
9:15: If, as expected, Florida is beating the shit out of Miami, flip to Texas-UTEP.
12:30: If insomnia strikes, I’ll watch a replay of MSU-EMU on the BTN. Hopefully the game isn’t interesting enough for me to bother.

2:00 pm–BYU/UDub

5:30–Halftime…time to wander the Boulevard looking at strapless dresses

I have somehow engineered my life so that I finally have a fine football Saturday stretched out before me, an ocean full of games filled with both flotsam and jetsam to choose from and nothing, _nothing_ and no one to interrupt my mastery of the remote, for _she_ is out of town. Ahhhh-hahahahaaa. Saturday is _mine_ once again, all mine. Mr. Burns, you have no idea of that which is truly “Excellent.” Life is good on the Redneck Riviera.
I hope the arrogant SC ass who failed in his attempt to succeed in talking down to the SEC on p. 3 left soon after his post went up, b/c you can’t make it from northern VA to State College in less than 15 hours via a psychedelia painted 1958 Blue Bird school bus. All the roads twist and turn and you end up in a Stephen King time warp horror show of fog and mist and “Wait! Weren’t we at this same intersection a hour ago?” And to think I actually reveled in the Carroll/Leinart beatdown of the Aubies on the Plains a few years back, only to suffer through the national media masturbation and spooge wallowing that followed the “21st Century Trojan Ascendancy.” Thank God for Texas, and I detest a got-damned Texas teasip.
Fly, o ye Golden Hattiesburg Eagles, fly high and pluck out the eyes of the Aubies’ eagle so mornoically named “Tiger.” How truly droll. Run the drooling hordes out of Possum Hair Sttadium and roll their Toomer’s Coner in black and gold.
Roll, o ye Crimson Kings of Tushkalusa, namesake of the seven-foot-tall Creek chief, greatest warrior ever to stride the North American Continent, murdered by the cowardly Spanish with their horses and their thunder sticks. Roll all _over_ they ass, as Shirley Q says. Two wins in a row with a bullet. What was that Oklahoma streak, now?
Strike out the hearts of the Irish, o great Aztec kings of San Diego. Shred their shillelaghs and ravage their creamy skinned red haired women. They do not deserve their own television network, and they must suffer for at least another year. Sorry, Lou.
I shall watch them all, and no one will stop me!

Dear College Football,
I miss your smell. I miss the way you and I would wake up together on Saturday mornings with that little nagging feeling of shame that eventually turned into excitement about what the future held for the both of us. Yes, College Football, I know you came around last week, but Gustav got in our way and kept me from your loving arms. I will not let that happen again.
And this morning, when I wiped the crust from my eyes, I gazed into those windows to your soul and saw myself. It felt good, nay, great. And today in South Louisiana the weather has a hint of fall in the air and some of the guys are cooking gumbo…and you’re invited, C.F. We all want you there so that we can flirt with you. Hell, you’re the reason for the party, baby, so get dolled up and put on your dancin’ shoes. I’ve got a cold Beam and Coke with your name on it, sweetheart.
My dearest, it’s good to have you back.
Yours forever,
