Greg Dodge, your mention of “ecumenical” led me to an old Time Magazine article on the National Council of Churches. truly wierd stuff…apparently the CIA, the dulles brothers and the rockefeller clan tried to trick all the christian churches in the country into supporting a form of communism and the obliteration of United States sovereignty.

According to m-w.com, “ecumenical” is defined as “1: worldwide or general in extent, influence, or application” along with the common definition “of, relating to, or representing the whole of a body of churches b: promoting or tending toward worldwide Christian unity or cooperation.”

So long as Spence’s influence is “general in extent, influence, or application,” as it is, then “ecumenical” seems like an appropriate word to use.

Spence, after Clemson put on the Barney suits and thumped Ga. Tech in 2006, said that his game plan had “come from Paul’s letter to the Corinthians — run to win.” However, I have never heard him mention the Koran or the commentaries of Maimonides as influences, so “eclectic” might be more appropriate than “ecumenical.”

I expect we’ll see alot of delayed blitz from HC N. Saban!! He loeves that style and he gets results bigtime.

Clemson is high tackling in the above film. Clemson’s speed and abilities rushing are fearsome. And though Nick hates it they will penetrate both in the air and on the ground inside so he sould prepare Alabama mentally for this problem.

Clemson will surrender many big points (touchdowns) late (4th quarter) with the gimpy high tacking style I view here versus Alabama’s bone crushing hits from their tailbacks (fullbacks too).

Alabama = Bam Bam Bam!! Concussion style baby!

Spence would smirk his emaciated little smirk at this pedestrian dissection of his offense, but he will not smirk when Bama does what every good team does to CU: Load the box with bigger, better athletes, jam hard on the outside, and shut that run game/short pass game down completely.

Tenuta, Bud Foster, Spaziani, et al., have crippled his vaunted wonk-fense on numerous occasions simply because they take away the low-risk, high-percentage plays his system craves. Note the production, or lack thereof, of Heisman wannabes Harper, Davis, and Spiller versus even decent teams last year…they pile up stats versus the bad teams but sputter against the good.

I can’t wait to see what “NFL teams” are pursuing, but unable to pry away, “mad scientist” Spence from CU this year…he’s way overrated.
