They’re banning all signs precisely because of the First Amendment: blanket restrictions on all speech in certain times/places are OK, but content-based restrictions are what get you in the Constitutional shit. Since they can’t just ban “FIRE GROH” signs, they’re banning them all.

I’m sure Thomas Jefferson is still proud.

Re #13: I’ve never understood that either. All players are bigger, faster, and stronger than they used to be. It would make sense only if the relative speed differential between LBs and the backs they’re chasing or the OLs they’re avoiding has changed, and I’m not sure there’s evidence for that.

The UVa pep band’s mockery of WVa, with their salute to indoor plumbing, at the 2002 Tire Bowl was hilarious.

For whatever reason, WVa took offense to the performance.

Just so you know, while a graduate assistant at Carolina, or somewhere I forget, Al Groh used to climb into trees and pee on unsuspecting students.

The above is true, as you cannot make this stuff up.

Al Groh should be drawn & quartered for doing away with the UVa Marching Pep Band and replacing it with a real fake lousy-ass band.

1st Amendment rights? On a collitch campus? Just try non PC speech and see how quickly you get expelled or reprimanded.

UVa should change their mascot to a Giant Pussy and play UPig so we can have “Two Dicks Whip Giant Pussies”.

I always enjoyed the signs at UVA. Sending out your opinion that “That TD was fine like port wine” and “Fois Gras – the real FG” let me know their fans have understanding of the finer food and drink in life and also 2 of the ways a football team can score points.

Plus we will miss out on the “We blew up the Orange Bowl with a Smart Bomb” hilarity.

But if Al Groh bans signs at UVA games, how will the students at Mr. Jefferson’s Academic Village ™ express their disdain for the less accomplished? How will students from other universities be forced to acknowledge their academic betters?
