Around SBN: Four TCU Football Players Among 17 Arrested In Drug Ring

HE'S DOING THE MESSIAH THING AGAIN

...Mark Richt as Bizarro Neo for the second year running.

Photo by Brant Sanderlin, AJC. The role of Mark Richt was, as always, played by Helen Hunt.

The rest of the gallery is here, including a shot of like fifteen huge players all crammed into a hot tub that looks like an illustration for The Berenstein Bears Visit Iceland.

What’s the deal with taping Stafford’s feet?

Are there sea urchins in that pool?

Mark (no pun intended) my words, Georgia losses two games this season and the images above is what everyone will be talking about – plus the loss of the All-American left tackle. UCLA takes practices off, not UGA.

On the other hand, Tubbs should think about this tactic because if they’re not on the field then they’re not beating the shit out of one another. Of course the chicken fighting might get out of hand…

[aside: when is LSUFreek going to finish the Tuberville/Few Good Men Code Red workup?]

I’ve been telling everyone I know that the South Carolina loss was directly caused by last year’s diving shenanigans – plus a freshman starting at left tackle.

I just realized what a beautiful sport diving is. Imagine falling into oblivion but controlling the fall. What an amazing metaphor for existence in this world of eternal struggle. We are at the mercy of powers beyond our control, yet we like to think we control everything. Just like diving.

Is it just me, or is this a pretty fair stab at the collective thought balloon over the hot tub scene: “White folks are crazy.”

And I think Richt did the math on the ratio of practices to torn acl’s Florida is staring down the barrel of, and decided to go low impact.

@ 7 – sort of like tOSU felt before the BCS games.

I know punters are at the low end of the totem pole, but they won’t even let them swim at the team pool parties??

Stafford’s ankles were taped because Richt surprised the team right before practice began, so Stafford was already prepared for a normal day’s practice.

UGA Practices “Taking A Dive” – good preparation for this season’s pole position.

i mean, seriously- the hot tub picture is a caption contest waiting to happen.
like when it’s joked that players and police do their part to help their school jump up in the Fulmer Cup, you have to think that the photographer is an avid EDSBS reader and upon seeing that scene thought to himself “shit i can’t wait to see what Orson and the commenters will do with this…”

by the way- not a racial joke, just that many big people crammed into a hot-tub is funny enough.

@ #4:

You’re a complete fool if you think anyone will remember these photos beyond tomorrow morning.

Best quote of the day Josh Davis—" I swim like a rock."

About the hot tub pics…..its a well known fact that the brothers do not swim. Ironically, when I was in the Navy and we had our swim qualification, it was in San Diego and handled by the SEALs(who have no patience for people going in the Navy and cant swim), so basically you had close to 100 guys who had to jump off the high dive and swim the length of the pool after treading water. One instructor asked aloud,
“If you cannot swim, go sit in the bleachers”, promptly about 40 brothers got up and walked and sat in the non swimming section. The 10 brothers that said they could swim were afraid of heights. One guy didnt realize it til he got to the top of the 20m platform, (its higher than you think) the SEALs decided they would help him get over his fear by throwing him off the platform after much yelling and screaming and punching since the brother didnt want to let go. He hit the water and sunk to the bottom. He couldnt swim, then he panicked and attacked the diver at the bottom of the pool. One SEAL instructor made it clear," the next one who says he can swim but cant swim and wants to fight in or out of the pool will be drowned on purpose for all to see, and out of 50 people they have drowned on purpose, we have only lost 5. Who feels lucky?" The best point he made was “if you are on a ship, it catches fire and you cant swim, you have a choice- die by being burned alive, or drown and be eaten by sharks….if you can swim you have a slim chance.” So by default, brothers like the land, mostly.

Later that day, Coach Richt showed the boys how to walk on water.
