Many, many years ago, my wife and I found out the hard way why you don’t make a spur-of-the-moment trip to Savannah on a Saturday night. After hours of fruitless search for lodging, I pointed the car onto I-16 west and made a promise to God that if I could find a room in Statesboro I would cheer for GSU the rest of my life.

Lo and behold, the Hampton Inn was there in our hour of need (the hour being 3 a.m. to be specific). Therefore, GO EAGLES!

Thaks for the Simpson Pepper nod. He was the best. Low key and understated. They guy Bama has now is a jackass. He sounds like an NBA guy. When Bama lost in 5 OTs to UT a few years ago, he yelled out “more free football!!” after every attempt by our sorry defense to stop them, including 4th and 19. Half the stadium wanted to shoot him the brain.

I concur with #25. Miami is remarkable because it stays warm throughout the year, but in the summertime it has heat indices lower than South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, et al

Miami really isn’t that hot though – they’ve never even had a recorded temperature of over 100deg there. Humid maybe, but not brutally hot.

There’s plenty of teams in the deep south practicing in much hotter temps than Miami right now.
