The entire UK fan base has about 10 rational fans. See Tubby Smith, firing of.

And Spurrier has done a few things to deserve a pass for a bad season. The proprietor of this site might know a few of them.

The funny thing is – after winning two Music City Bowls – UK advertises their program by putting up pictures of the trophy with the phrase “HARDWARE MATTERS” underneath. Classic!

For UK that does equal success. For UF, UT, and UGA it does not. I am willing to bet that USC would have traded their victory over UK for a bowl appearance, a winning record, and a bowl victory, none of which they received. I don’t recall hearing anyone talking about firing Steve Spurrier’s ass.

No rational fan would argue that UK’s two year success means they are on the level of the upper echelon SEC teams. However, another bowl year, without Woodson, Woodyard, Tamme, Little, Burton, etc. and they will have moved up to “good” .

Excuse me, two Music City Bowls does not equal “success.” In the SEC East, that equals “one more year like this and your ass is fired.” 2007 was the best year in UK football since the Carter Administration and the Cayuts STILL lost to Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, and Mississippi State – at home.

After that barnburner of a year, it’ll be understandable if UK fans are a little upset that things return to normal. Andre’ Woodson is not walking through that door.

I’m an Ole Miss guy, don’t let the name confuse you. I know, Vandy did beat us last year and we’ve been pretty awful as of late, but we won’t always “bring up the rear” as you put it.
