sonofsamford @ #41…yeah, no real story there…remember ‘everyone’ figures they can take on a football player, especially those football players with issues, and as a result, they deserve whtever they get…cracked skull, eyes pushed out of sockets, you know…the usual. The writer was simply trying to show the player in a bad light and we all took the bait…something about a smelly red fish that hooks me every time.

Are you saying Lemon isn’t a dangerous individual and without fault of his own, was goaded into causing extreme damage to another individual’s facial features by someone who deserved such treatment? And said victim should have known Lemon had issues? And this is not more dangerous than DUI? Just checking…

Michael Lemon is a good guy who made the mistake of talking to an idiot from Albany who can’t help but be a jackass. Any time someone gets their facial features rearranged by a football player, it’s THEIR fault for being like, “Who cares what I say to him. I can take him.” There’s no way a kid with understandable issues punching someone is worse than a kid getting a DUI, for which measly one or two game suspensions are handed out.

Not only does Michael lose tremendous opportunity in this whole thing but, his little brother will really suffer. I don’t know if there is any other family to help but, the kid has takes some serious blows regardless. And he is still a teen.

I agree with you and I personally don’t think it has anything to do with who’s a fan of what team. I know we’re all bored and starting to itch for football to start back up but what that guy did was extremely stupid, especially in the face of his “I wasn’t thinking” or “I was trying to get back at some Sooners fans” excuses.

And the Texas media who ran the story need to get their heads examined at some point too. The station I listen to in Omaha at least went “uhhh, what the fuck” and declined to air the story until they got confirmation/otherwise from a source a little bit more reputable than a message board.

Yes, the stations should be at fault, as well, and the news managers/reporters of those stations should be held responsible by their parent companies.

The Oklahoman video blaming boards, etc. is a moron. The blogs didn’t give us Jason Blair, Judith Miller or Mike Barnacle. Those journalists were in the mainstream or so-called legitimate media and they did far more damage than this story.

PW, I think it's the fact that he never got through a skit without laughing, he went on to make millions in film (with performances that were no better than those on SNL), and Taxi (where he was out-acted by Gisele, Ann-Margaret, and Queen Latifah). Also, he thinks he's the funniest guy in the room.

Again, shouldn’t the Texas radio stations be at fault here as well, esp. when the story doesn’t even link to the paper’s website. How is that for responsibility? Yes, the guy is a dumbass and should be fined or something, but that is it, no jail time, no “his life and family should be ruined by this!” hyperbole. Let the shame of his actions be his punishment.

I don’t understand everyone’s intense hatred of Jimmy Fallon. I’m not saying he’s the greatest comedian of our time, but he had a few funny characters. Same goes for Dane Cook.

Think about some of the SNL cast members who brought absolutely nothing to the table: Julia Sweeney, Jeanine Garafolo, Horatio Sanz…where is the hatred for them?
