Suggesting using a piece of the plane's wreckage to be rubbed by the current Herd football team like some sort of macabre rabbit's foot, however, is a-okay, Allhaver...

See, as long as it's Bobby Pruett doing the suggesting, there are no scoldings about appropriateness from internet Herd fans who probably weren't even born yet when the crash occurred.

Gotta learn the rules, yo.

The comment about getting Byron's mother on the plane is not cool. If you did not like him in Jacksonville, that's fine. Don't joke about the plane crash.

I think it's funny most people think that Marshall won that game, but it was our only loss that year besides the Virginia Tech debacle.

The Rubber Bowl was really our house of horrors. Marshall played there 4 times and should have won every time by about four touchdowns but only managed to go 2-2 with both wins even being close.

So, I just caught the tail end of We Are Marshall on my magic-tv-box-that-somehow-steals-On-Demand-channels-my-various-neighbors-are-watching.

Fellow Big Cat City Jagsonvillians, if we could build a time machine, do y'all think we could get Byron Leftwich's mother on that plane?

So we have come up with the following algebraic equation:

Large Immobile Man + Long Windup - Brains = NFL FAIL

Byron's windup took about two years off of my life, because I knew he was going to get sacked and fumble the damn ball in the middle of it.. He wasn't the best PR guy for us either, unlike Garrard, who is currently the face of the franchise.

Dawg 05, how much of a windup does it take to throw the freaking pigskin out of bounds? He failed because he took more sacks then Jenna Jameson. Sure, he could get bent over backwards, like Jenna, and get right back under center (Jameson), but it eventually caught up with him. That was aside from him being a total dumbass/idiot/stupidhead. He got run over TWICE in childhood while playing in the street.

He failed in the NFL because he had a longer windup than Hideo Nomo. The Great Wall of China couldn't protect him long enough to get a pass off consistently.

That depends, #6. I've heard from one person who spoke to one of the refs of that game who told me that the players essentially knew that once Marshall made the decision to leave the kid in despite the injury, that nothing short of use of a weapon was going to draw a holding flag by his O-line.

In other words, the refs decided that they weren't going to be as stupid and irresponsible as Marshall head coach Bob Pruett was that night. (Especially considering that Marshall still lost that game to Akron by two TDs).

Leftwich was never the same. Personally I could never understand why he retained the starting job at Jax as long as he did.

The man has a canon for an arm, but he throws a 5 year out route the same as he throws a 50 yard bomb... absolutely as hard as he can.

I once heard it said he throws a pass like a pissed off gorilla to receivers with rubber for hands. Bad combo.

I remember seeing that and thinking "Well of course his leg's broken, it couldn't bear the weight load of his ELEPHANTINE NUTSACK."

Good kid. Probably deserved better. Would still take him as a Skins backup in a sec if he wants to come home.
