Texas Dawg @ 52 – sure, because the parlous state of the economy and Battle of the Somme field and tent conditions of the last several years couldn’t possibly have had anything to do with it.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed Oasis’ first two albums because of their very un-English failure to be apologetic about wanting to be rock stars, but it’s been one prolonged whinge from the brothers Gallagher since then.

( Further proof of the Dr Rockso Theorem, which is that the decline of an artist is in direct correlation to the decrease in their usage of Bolivian marching powder. )

Yep, #43… mockingly butchering another band’s song (as Jay-Z did in the clip), particularly on such a big stage, is essentially considered the ultimate “fuck you” in the world of rock.

I like some of Oasis’ stuff, but they are world-class douchebags, and Jay-Z’s response was well deserved.

What an idiot. He lives and works right here in Orange County yet he can’t figure out how to buy tickets? Is he hoping some “fan” is just gonna give some to him?

I think Hugh Hewitt doesn’t realize that the reason Trojan fans won’t give him their tickets is because his life savings of $11.05 and his “gently used” ‘85 Ford Ranger isn’t really enough to count as a “fair price” for USC-tOSU tickets.

At least one of SMU’s 7 Peruna mascots was buried inside Ownby stadium. When it was torn down to make room for Ford Stadium (opened in 2000) they recovered the remains of Peruna VI (the only remains they could actually find) reburied them at Peruna Plaza, just outside the stadium.

The ashes of Peruna VII will be placed in Heritage Hall, which is actually inside the building that houses the football offices attached to the stadium.

the nut of Gallagher’s problem with Jay-Z was that Glastonbury is a “guitar” festival where hip hop didn’t fit in. By playing Oasis’ song (badly) and then going into 99 Problems (with its Back in Black ACDC guitar riff) he was spitting right at Gallagher.

I think the other thing about Jay-Z there is that he went from Wonderwall into 99 Problems which has lyrics slamming critics and generally saying at least he’s not a b!tch. I, myself, thought it was pretty funny.

Thanks for the update on Reveille’s tomb. I knew y’all had to bury her some place close to Kyle. A scoreboard just so your dead mascot knows the score? That seems like a waste of money, but hey, it is your dollar.

A lot of my income goes straight back to A&M vets so I do appreciate the school. I have a breed of dog that has a lot in common with the bulldog: breathing problems and requires artificial insemination to be bred.
