OFFSEASON DEATH MARCH COPING MECHANISMS: FREE BOWL GAMES!
Hulu.com should not be news to anyone, at this point. It's one of those sites that's been around kinda forever that you still get breathless OMG!!!1-encrusted emails from your maiden aunt about every few months.
That said...this particular section is news to me. Here are FOX and NBC's big 2008 bowls, in their entirety, plus a bonus play-by-play cutdown of the '07 Fiesta Bowl...no fees, no registration. The commercial interruptions are infrequent, the A/V quality astonishingly high for a free site.
Anybody having a long day? Need a little ESS EE CEE SPEED in your cubicle? How about the entire 2008 BCS Championship game? You're welcome:
Long road to August, boyos. Kick back a spell and enjoy the next best thing.

If it is all the same to you, I’d rather not. Thank you for the effort though.

Noooooo! Don’t make me watch Ohio State play football; they’re just so slow. It’s like watching old people have sex.

- - Apparently in Japan, that’s it’s own special category (“Elder Porn”), and people buy it in droves.

RE: #5 tOSU being slow is more like their DC can’t seem to figure how to stop speed, not that they don’t have any. Chris Wells / Ted Ginn looked pretty fast againt ESS EEE SEE speed, right? That damned umbrella zone bullshit / arrogance is their problem. tOSU should ignore the Phil Jackson book of adjustments and the Floyd Mayweather book of arrogance for the ’08 season.

Try to remember that on September 13 when tOSU is blowing past your Trojans into the end zone. Speed didn’t kill us against LSU, it was a self inflicted wound.

C’mon bucks…Just think what you DO get to see: Beanie Freaking Wells faceplanting everything in his path. To say that he is a one-man swath of destruction is kinda’ like calling Katrina a little rain.

The only thing that might save me this summer [and into the season for that matter] is someone finding me a copy of ‘The Choke at Doak’…

I’d much rather go to Hulu and watch Arkansas get pounded in the Cotton Bowl. Mmm…tasty…

Ahhh… dejected-looking Ohio State fans… I’ve missed you so much….

After losing the Gator Bowl to CBS, NBC doesn’t have any bowls left. A real shame because the Orange Bowl and NBC just sounds right together.

The Number 1 Ranked OSU Defense vs LSU in the National Championship Game == Shredded Beef.
… and Don’t even bring up Michigan, our D sucked all year long against everyone! :)

The sequel is never as good as the original (With the exception of Terminator 2) This is like showing Caddyshack 2 at a film festival. Only difference is Les Miles may be more annoying than the character Jack Hartounian played by Jackie Mason.

5 and 10,
I have edited my previous comment so as to appease you:
Noooooo! Dont make me watch Ohio State play football; theyre just awful to watch in bowl games that matter. Its like watching old people have sex.

12 – why would you want to watch a tie football game? Unless maybe you actually like kissing your sister. That name for that game (by Nole fans) is pretty stupid. Yeah, FSU came back from a big deficit and wimped out at the end by going for the tie. Great job.

Speaking of Death March, Notre Dame re-upped their contract with NBC through 2015.
No mention if they’ll be playing Duke, Stanford, Navy, Syracuse, BYU and Airforce IN THE TOUGHEST SCHEDULE IN THE LAND!!!!!!2
by Ryno on Jun 19, 2008 2:11 PM EDT reply actions
there are really only two plays in that game that i’m willing to watch, and both of them involve beanie wells being a wrecking ball
as horrible as it was to lose in the NC AGAIN, watching beanie stiff arm that safety into the next century almost made it worth it.
almost.

ALGator-
I don’t know about “shredded beef”, check the stats…I would attribute it more to field position and turnovers
by Tommy on Jun 19, 2008 2:23 PM EDT reply actions
Ryno, replace Duke, Air Force, and BYU with Washington, San Diego State, and Pitt and your assessment of ND’s awesome schedule this year is accurate.

NOOOOOOO. Not that surprising, but a very large part of me was hoping NBC’d cut them loose and we’d be spared the snuff foobaw after 2010.

Not sure how a tie ball game is like kissing your sister, pray tell?
But I will watch anyone named Rock Preston carry the football, as for the ’97 game, touche. A well played game, between two ranked teams I can handle as far a rivalry goes, now the spanking clinic that Tebow put on FSU last year i would never like to see again.

@Holly,
The only snuffing will be TO the opposition after 2010. :)
@NoleFan – ask Pat Dye. He’ll tell ya.

Some attribute the quote “a tie is like kissing your sister” to the Bear, but that could be like their 12 national championships or something. You never know. Wikipedia (yeah, I know) says it belongs to Navy coach Eddie Erdelatz.
by Brian O'Blivion on Jun 19, 2008 3:30 PM EDT reply actions
Well played sir. You’d have to assume the connection to the ‘ESS EE CEE’…
Who knew there was a 2-3 page article about ties on wikipedia, an unrelenting fountain of knowledge!

As much crap as he gets, God bless Rupet Murdoch. If asian fever begats great ideas like Hulu.com, then I never want to get well.

There is a site somewhere that has last year’s Cocktail Party game in full also, but I can’t remember where. Anyone know?

@26 (& 27)
So, is it the DC, the umbrella zone, the arrogance, the field position, the turnovers, or the penalties?
by NativeSon on Jun 20, 2008 7:50 AM EDT reply actions
Hulu is awesome. Where else can you watch football, a young hot Erin Grey, and Franklin Delano Bluth all on the same site? Come on!

tOSU is the BEST 1st quarter football team in the BCS championship vs the SEC ever. Too bad there are 3 more quarters to play………after that Brandon Lafell TD catch, the dejection and that old feeling of “here we go again…..” could be read on every tOSU fans face…..
by Mr Pelican Pants on Jun 21, 2008 8:35 PM EDT reply actions
bad field position and turnovers? so if it weren’t for that, tOSU’s DC would have figured out how to prevent richard dickson from making the buckeye defense look stupid?
