GUTEN CINCO DE MAYO!
Whilst Patrick is sporting immense celebratory lip coverage over at Thirty-Five Seconds, we’re prepping for some margaritas with our favorite tri-cultural hero from south of the border: Die schnellste Maus von Mexiko!
Enjoy your Cinco. We’ll see you tomorrow.

Very offensive. And classless. Hope you’re proud of yourselves.

I remember reading the comic book Maus, but recall it to be a bit more depressing.

Yes! Let us commemorate the initial victory of Mexican forces led by General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín over French forces in the Battle of Puebla in 1862! We shall drink!

Aw shit, started celebrating the fifth too early.
Anyways, what I wanted to say before I inadvertently hit the wrong button……chum1, part of acceptance and inclusion is having a sense of perspective and being able to LAUGH at any gender, socioeconomic level, educational attainment, religious affiliation, ethnic propensity or preference, cultural attributes/foibles, sexual persuasions and yada, yada, yada. Anything.
I can laugh at my Irish alcoholic, German anal retentive and Scottish cheapness with glee. Arirba, arriba were the first “romance” language words I learned.
Why should you be offended?
Why can’t you learn from humor, parody, juxtaposition or sarcasm?
When censorship becomes the mantra of the disenfranchised, only tyranny will prevail.
Wow, a couple of Coronas, and I begin making sense. When the Patron kicks-in, well…….

Versteh ich nicht. Es ist fast vier Jahre als ich letzte mal in Deutschland war. Zu schwer die Umgangssprachausdruecke mich zu errinern.

@ 12. Ja. Und ich sprechen der Aengles.
However, since your tag is “croominator” and (having taught grad classes at MSU) I have serious, profound reservations as to your ability to do likewise

Aunque a mi me encante margaritas, la verdad es que para Mexicanos — mi gente! — el cinco de mayo no es gran cosa.
Ass whipping the French? Meh.
PS: Regarding the first comment, it’s only offensive if you are French — but then again, everything is offensive if you are French, notably the French.

Hung @ #7…nicely stated, and a philosophical bent with which I concur.
That said, like Athens, anything to do with french (the language, primarily, and the female students thereof) always carries an extremely prurient charge for me…kinda strange to hear either or both mentioned and get the beginnings of wood…Pavlovian, no?
Oh, and in honor of cinco de mayo I rode the john deere over the lawn with a dos X…

Damn, you try to use a “Pulp Fiction” quote as a humorous way to alert fellow posters to your lack of knowledge of the Germanic languages, and you get the ol’ “Cow College dumbass” tag.
Not that a LOT of students here don’t deserve it…but I blame that more on overall “dumbing down” of entry-level academic standards nationwide.
Oh, sorry, back on topic…so if Speedy is the SEC, what’s that make Sylvester the cat?

#1,
Is this really offensive to you? As someone who is of hispanic decent, I can honestly say that the only thing troubling and offensive about this cartoon, is that a bunch of PC white people have caused this brilliant cartoon to disappear from American TV, under the guise that it is offensive to hispanics. I loved this cartoon, as did every other hispanic member of my family. Lighten up.
