Jason @ 18 – you could try the yellow pages, for a start. Other than that, I suppose you could go to places where doctors congregate, like country clubs, Mercedes dealerships, malpractice lawyers’ offices… and perhaps hospitals, just in the off chance.

Remember your coach making you wear a jock, even without a cup for non-contact stuff? There is a reason.

Plantar fascitis and I are good friends now. It used to not be the case. Orthotics and heel stretches are key in early treatment.

Think of the plantars facia tissue as a bow string and your foot bone structure as a bow. The tissue is always in tension. Stretch the bow too far and the string starts to inflame then tear- that’s plantars fascitis.

Having been afflicted at one time with this particular malady, I recommend the following treatment for those of us who are not world-class athletes. This is for those that have inflammation and not spurs.

Mornings are especially painful, so before rising, loop a towel around the balls (no jokes please) of your foot and gently stretch your ankles and calf muscles. Nine months later the problem was gone.

Dr. Hung
