The Bama at Clemson game is actually a neutral field game being held in the Georgia Dome.

I’m downright tumescent re: USC @ UVa.

We are tumescent thinking about Rey Maualuga meeing Jameel Sewell on the inevitable 5 wide qb draw UVA will call in the second quarter.

mmm…Fat Phil making another CA trip and the Trojans heading to Charlottesville….

Pete Carroll is jacked right now. I think I heard Al Groh utter a “meh.”

Illinois-Mizzou …..

Next to USC/OSU, biggest non-conference game of the tear. Mu will be ranked in top 10, UI, top 10 or 15.

by Chris on Apr 2, 2008 5:45 PM EDT reply actions

I was wondering if Phil decided that he needed to step down a level on the Cali teams he’s playing after the bears smoked them on opening day.

by ThreenOut on Apr 2, 2008 5:47 PM EDT reply actions

The Mizzou/Illinois game will be in St. Louis and like #10 said, could be the biggest non-conference game this side of OSU/USC.

by Weapon M on Apr 2, 2008 5:48 PM EDT reply actions

I wonder if the Clemson fans that attend the Bama game will be wearing their "Got 1? shirts.

by hunglikehussain on Apr 2, 2008 5:48 PM EDT reply actions

Sadly, Orson, Maualuga is probably going to have to settle for rearranging the central nervous system of one Peter Lalich, since I think Sewell is out for the year due to some academic issues.

And PSU takes on Coastal Carolina! The fighting Chanticleers! Just like the good old days, FUCK YEAH!

10 agreed. Who knew at the beginning of last year that it would be a big deal then?

by ThreenOut on Apr 2, 2008 5:56 PM EDT reply actions

Wait wait wait!!!

You forgot that all important game between national champs, LSU and Appy St on Aug 30 in Baton Rouge. It’ll be HOT HOT HOT!

So hot, it’s not on tv. Or is ESPN showing that crapfest or something?

by Joshua on Apr 2, 2008 5:59 PM EDT reply actions

WTF, no mention of the UF Orange & Blue game???Only 10 more days, sports fans!!! ESPN!!!

by ALGator on Apr 2, 2008 6:04 PM EDT reply actions

Some good games there… and the USC scrimmage against the Hoos should be entertaining at least. UVA’s gracious secondary let Sean Glennon pick them apart last year. Think about that. And just about every unit on UVA’s squad is hurting in one way or another and, by the by, Sewell sprained his cerebrum and won’t be playing this season.

Shucks.

#10…

illinois will be grossly overrated next year – they dont have much of a shot without mendenhall. auburn at wvu should be a good one

by ThreenOut on Apr 2, 2008 6:15 PM EDT reply actions

Georiga @ Arizona St. in week 4 should also be a great OOC game. Could be the #2 best OOC game behind Ohio St. @ USC.

I know that the estrous influence is strong this time of the year.

Mizzou v. Illinois will be at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis again this year. They’ll probably get gameday.

  1. - Getting slightly aroused…makes me think of what George Costanza said when he got a massage from the man, and also after he got shamed in the sack for his poor oral skills:

“I think it moved, Jerry, I Think it moved!!”

Commenter #20: Juice Williams is still alive? I thought he went MIA during the USC-Illinois Rose Bowl game. I figured that Rey Mauluga killed him with those three devastating sacks in the first half.

Nick Saban vs. Tommy Bowden.

Don’t underestimate the importance of this game for both parties. A loss to Clemson could signal the beginning of the end for Mr. Saban. A bama win would be very annoying since Tommy just inked paper through 2025.

In a parralel universe… does Auburn laugh or cry at this dilema. A loss for Alabama or the thought of losing Nick so early in their relationship.

“It sort of screwed me up. I couldn’t figure out what was going on. They had a quarterback in, four tight ends and a receiver and there was no kicker.”
   - Nick Saban

Bama wins in 2OT. Tommy Bowden thanks the mommies and daddies for breeding children with no competitive instinct. Auburn fans remain stoic and apethetic until someone explains the implications of the victory. They then erupt in random nut punching and chop blocking. A couch is burned someone in Morgantown.

FUCKING BRING IT ON ALREADY !!!!!!

Although I highly doubt that we won’t see something like a kid from the St Louis suburbs called Maclin run back a punt the first time he touches the ball like last year, that Illinois-Missouri game will be superb. I’ve already got my tickets and am preparing Paintcan.

GT v Jacksonville State on Thursday: I’m pretty appalled by this game, as an Alumni, and just finding out about it. Pretty Shit poor excuse, but I guess it will be good to let people scope out the new Paul Johnson Offense, prolly on ESPN2 or something.

Wow, our whole home schedule is BALLS until the last 3 weeks, when we get UVA, FSU, and da U. MS State could be a fun game though.

Gardner Webb? They have football?

BTW, a quick moment of silence for Ray Poole, last of the famed Poole Brothers of Ole Miss, who passed at the age of 86 Wednesday. He played baseball, basketball AND football from ’41 to ’43 and then from ’46 to ’47 (with a Marine stint in WWII in between)…later he was an assistant under Vaught during the “glory years,” 1955 to 74. 100 cocktails to you, Ray.

If we’re including MSU vs. Cal (two 7-6 teams last year), I think Rutgers vs. Fresno State certainly belongs on the list.

by Matt on Apr 3, 2008 12:11 AM EDT reply actions

Mississippi State will be a good game. Tech’s away schedule kicks ass… if you are in Atlanta, there is no reason not to make it to every away game.

But yeah, home schedule… not so much. Army screwed us over though, they hung us out to dry – that’s why we had to pick up G-W.

Thankfully, I’ll be in Athens watching the return of Georgia Southern, and I’ll miss most of the desecration of my city by Climpson and some team from Alabama for the second time in eight months.

Have you been paying attention to the reports out of Spring practice. You can bet your ass we’ll be ready for those goddamned chickens this time around. NOT like the good ol’ days. I predict: Penn State 44 – Coastal Carolina 6. Mark it down, you heard it here first.

App. State vs LSU on ESPN2 to start the year. Past 3 time National Champion versus Glorified Exhibition Winner. Going to be a good game, especailly since App’s D is still good, and LSU will not have a qualified QB to wipe Miles arse

by 3OntheHand on Apr 3, 2008 10:16 AM EDT reply actions

Uh, South Carolina v. NC State is Thursday 8/28. That should have at least gotten a mention before now.
