ONE LAST TOAST: VEGAS
How you live so large, man? Icehouse on tap at the Mermaids Casino, that’s how we do.

Kanu explained it best: “It’s like they had a lot of shitty beer, and just said ‘Hey, we can sell it if we just add more alcohol.’”
Enjoy your evening.

Vegas is fun, but leaving it is more fun.
Truest words I have ever heard spoken of LV.
Kudos.

I have to agree - vegas is a draining experience, watching endless hordes of zombies push buttons on their card wielding adventure machines (MMMMMM BRAAAAiiiiinnn….. SSSSLLLLLLOOOOOTTTTSSS!) is exhausting even for someone who has lived here for 18 years. What’s kept me sane while living here the abundance of great places to get away and feel alive. Red Rock Canyon, Mt Charleston, Brian Head, Lake Mead (great islands to camp on, even more so w/ the drought), Zion (hike The Narrows - you’re in a canyon and you get to hike in a river at points), Bryce, Beaches of San Diego…. everything is all withing a half day’s drive. Vegas is fun, but leaving it is more fun.

I was in Vegas in February for a few nights. Fremont street was….interesting….
Gambled at El Cortez for four hours playing $5 Blackjack. because the $3 table was full…
Ate at some diner that was actually cheap and awesome. Believe I suffered seizures walking through the covered neoned area.
Back to Bellagio, where they had the Chinese New Year thing going on in the garden area, with a giant effing rat staring at me.
First time in Vegas. Maybe the last. Drove to Zion National Park In UT for two nights, for a detox of the soul…highly recommended. Vegas, notsomuch.

The smell of certain beverages still makes me want to hurl to this day.
Icehouse is one ($4 pitchers at the Porpoise being the main culprit) and the good Captain Morgan with his wee beady eyes, his sweet rum, and even sweeter ’stache is the other.
I salute you sirs and madams.
How about a little Capt Morgan love on this fine Moustache Wednesday?
