Maybe I spoke too soon. I don’t know whether or not it appeared in SI or if it was before ESPN the magazine, but it definitely appeared in ESPN the Magazine. If I’m wrong, my apologies.

That story did indeed appear in SI last year. So credit ESPN for copying someone else again. Give kudos to SI for seeking the story out and writing about it.

That Joe Kines picture would be cooler if he was holding up a rabbit

Kines’ jogging route also took him by our house in T-Town, but my friends and I were afraid to say anything to him because we were worried we would lose our ability to hear. He always gave us a wave though.

I usually scoff at the self serving and self involved nature of personal jounalism pieces that writers seem to think will put them on the pulitzer track. With that said, I did enjoy the muck city piece. I especially like how they made a point to show that, even though cotton tails are worth 3 bucks, the first such prize for the williams family was cooked and eaten out of pride. Just the fact hat rabbits are kept for food says a lot. Back in the day, when I THOUGHT I was country, we let he dogs have em.
