I meant, everything in town closes at 12. Two bars outside the city limits (the Que Stick and Rabb’s) are open until 2.

And Stowe’s is gone now, LD and kleph.

Kleph, you are behind man. Ruston is no longer dry. Liquor for sale everywhere. The blue haired Baptists still all convinced that means the entire town is going to hell.

Everything still closes at 2 and the cops are still assholes so that charming small town aspect still remains.

How anyone can go to school there is beyond me. People ask if I’ve ever been to jail. I tell them I served 18 years one time in a place called Ruston.

AD and HC of football was the way most schools were ran 15-20 years ago….. only reason it’s not now is because athletic budgets went from 10-15 mill to 80-100 mill….and some of the coaches were not very fair about the cuts…..anywho…Techs’ budget is more than manageable for a person to do both and he will have an outstanding support group…with any luck and his leadership….the budget will get out of hand and we will get back to the (2) jobs for (2) people…but for now it should would great

Ruston’s never been dry. It’s just been ‘damp’ in the city limits until a few years back.

In addition to King, Dooley’s also been voted the head of the Lincoln Parish police jury, and principal at Ruston Junior High.

All that said, you’ll see La Tech in the AP poll sooner rather than later….

It’s not dry anymore. Hell, we have 3 drive-thru liquor stores (just outside the city limits, of course). But you still can’t buy it anywhere on Sunday. And everything closes at midnight.

#3 – As someone who attended La Tech, I say don’t discount the fact that Grambling is 5 miles up the road. You can pick your poison there and be back in Ruston in no time.

I once coached for a school where the AD was coaching another sport and it is not a good situation.

The main advantage to the school is that they get two jobs done (or mostly done) for one salary instead of two. And it is a way of jacking up the salary of the head football or basketball coach without throwing all the salaries out of whack
