Or, to accomplish my goal, we could simply have Sir Charles Barkley be the commentator on all televised games of significant importance, and the next play can't start until he is done talking about the previous one. Shit in a shoebox- the Iron Bowl would last until St. Patty's Day...

I propose a rule that 15 seconds are added to the clock for every chop-block.

I still think that ANY effort to shorten games is absolutely re-fucking-tarded. If it were up to me, they would extend the quarters to 20 minutes and no more than games involving ranked (or SEC) teams could be played at once. We could start games at 11am eastern and stretch them until 1am eastern, or later if needed. No offense to the boys at KissingSuzyKolber.com, but personally I wouldn't mind it if we stretched games into Sunday afternoon!!!

Why make the game suffer with stupid rule changes? I don't know anyone that has ever complained about games lasting too long. I know a shitload of people that complain about too many commercials.

How about we limit the number of commercials per quarter? That will speed up the game.

I watched a local HS football game on one of the Time Warner On-Demand channels and they had only 1 or 2 commercial breaks per quarter. It was great.

#2 Here Here. Don't forget the "This is our country......" nonsense from Jon Cougar Mellonbutt.

It amazes me how they can make so many sudden changes for the sake of advertising. But when it comes to fixing the postseason...."it's just so hard and will take so long......"

I'm still waiting for the NCAA to mandatorize that the networks to shove the 30 second spots, repeated rock 'em sock 'em robot commcercials, new show plugs, and constant, unnecessary cut-aways up their ***es.

Till then, line-item is good.

Great work Orson! Sounds like good news.

Like I said yesterday, any game shortening achieved by the OB clock change would be applied to commercials at the 2 minute warning, which would be just plain theft from CFB fans.
