What is disingenuous or smarmy about Coach K? People have been trying to perform character assassination on him since the early 90s and all they can come up with is that he cusses a lot and does a lot of commercials. I think Huckleberry Hound over at UNC-CH deserves more derision than K on any given day.

#13 My brother and I watched tooonnnsss of NWA when we were little. Like 7 or 8 years old little. Our favorite was Magnum TA and the best tag team duo was the Rock n Roll Express. Good times.
Then again, there wasn’t much else on TBS back then but NWA, reruns of the Carol Burnett Show (genius), Braves baseball, and commercials for Lee Press on Nails, Survivor knives, the pocket fisherman, and Freedom Rock LPs.

When I was a kid, TBS was WTCG and it was about the only channel I ever watched. Ted Turner is the person who introduced me to Gordon Soley, The Little Rascals, The Space Giants and Jethro Bodine. It’s almost enough for me to be able to forgive him for all the Braves games I had to watch growing up.

Ran into Ric Flair at the Gainesville airport in 2000 after a UF shellacking of MSU. I practically ran into him and tried to play it cool (loser) as I walked past, but my still half drunk buddy started the Flair strut and broke out the “TO BE THE BEST….” I’ve never been prouder.
