I still have my eligibility left.
What say you, OOC? I can play QB in Orangeburg if you can catch my bombs in the MEAC.

F football - I’m going out for the BAND, that’s how you get chicks at HBUC’s. My bass drum skillz are not to be denied!

Am I the only one shocked by the racial implications of the historically black college blog?
Reverse racism :(

You think that’s something. Try watching a HBCU baseball game.
There’s so many white people on the field, you’d think they’re waiting for a Toby Keith concert to start.

You have to understand that these institutions were founded when African-Americans were not allowed to attend any other college or university. These were the only avenues for secondary education and in the south, much of the emphasis was on agriculture. Over time, they have (detrimentally in some instances), been too racially prideful of their history. Times have changed. Boast, proclaim and be proud and in effect scare off potential students/alums. Provide meaningful education at a reasonable cost and transform yourself into relevancy.
Today, they are competing in a less excluding and segregationist world. You are correct IMHO that the “black” part needs to be dropped. As far as reverse discrimination, I have never read nor heard of any such incrimination at these institutions.

Why doesn’t the EDSBS store no longer have the “Possession Receiver” T-shirts?
