I wasn't high on Applewhite, but what does Pendry have to show for his career other than a lot of frequent flyer miles?

Rhoads was the Pitt DC under Walt Harris. Those were the teams that used to lose Don Coryell style, put up 35+ points, but still get outscored. The defense only improved because of (I know, this is hard to believe...) Dave Wanstache. He knows defense. It's offense, special teams, and managing an entire roster that gives him brain cramps.

Looks like tOSU will have a 3 game schedule.....
Troy is a pretty good team, should play a good game, dont know if they will push tOSU enough...

USCw should be a good game, Michigan, ILLinois should be decent games, I think tOSU goes 2-1 thru that with USC winning by 10.....curious to see how Michigan shapes up

That's right, thanks...it's been a long time since I watched that movie. Billy Ray and one of the Dukes talked about trading pork bellies near the beginning of the movie. It was FCOJ at the end.

For those who give a shit, tOSU schedule for 2008 begins with the much anticipated rematch with YSU. Followed by the Frank Solich led Bobcats of Ohio U. Week 3 brings U$C in Watts. Come back to Columbus and imitate the SEC with a Troy team that gave UGA fits last season. Then it gets easier with Big Ten play.
Minnesota
@ Wisconsin
Purdue
@Mich St
PSU
Bye
@Northwestern
@Illinois
Michigan

Those of us who care know that the season rests on the results of our game vs.U$C on September 13. If we lose that one, we can't get to another title game this year. We already know that we need to be unbeaten, but with only a few losses to the NFL this year, it is possible. The SEC is definitly the stronger conference now, but tOSU is noy going away.

Orson, you screwed the headline.

It isn't "Paul Rhoads is the next defensive coordinator at Auburn", it's "Paul Rhoads is named as Will Muschamp's eventual replacement at Texas".

Don't you all see it? "Arkansas Buckeye" is Orson Swindle!

Anyone posting with a Big Televen team name, especially tOSU, in his moniker who rips the SEC around here is like when Billy Ray Valentine and Winthorpe started a pork belly selling frenzy in Trading Places.

Except now, he's cashing in on page views ;)

I'm certainly no SEC homer, (The ACC will rise again!), but an Buckeye whining about OOC schedules is rich:

I mean, you really do take chances with the powerhouses of Kent St., Akron and Youngstown St.

You may have to wait a while @ 23. He's a little slow. He'll arrive a little bit after Mike Slive and the rest of the SEC.

I was hearing rumblings of Applewhite leaving when his name was showing up on different searches for coaches after the season,actually I was suprised when I heard his name mentioned intially as the OC at the beginning of the season cause he really hadnt been around 5 plus years like most OC.....he was instrumental of getting Star Jackson, so dont know if that means anything different for us at qb....Most think he was way over his head and was taking most of the hits for JPW lack of progression, plus fading that heat and having to come up with an offense with 3 starters off the O-line due to suspensions with the run essentially shut down and DJ Hall being double covered, the offense pretty much itself down.....much like Shula, the game that showed a major crack in the armor was Miss St and some questionable off the wall plays..(one in particular that went the other way and changed the game, and momentum for the season), especially in the red zone, pissed Saban off to where he had to do some damage control....Maybe Pendry, maybe Brohm from Louisville, this time I think Saban will get it right since there seems to be more experienced coaches available...
