Terry Bowden should have applied for ucla’s head baw’ coach position. Everybody and their brother turned that job down. Check that: Charlie Weis’ agent made inquiries and was shot down faster than Paris Hilton/Brittney Spears/Lindsey Lohan shooting down things of taste and class.

This headline would please me much more with one less word after the colon.

I don’t get the fascination with the Bowen bunch. Bobby was quoted a couple of nights ago that “Terry was the best offensive mind he’s ever been around”.

Face it Bobby, Joe Pa ain’t taking a dirt nap any time soon, so go ahead and retire. You’re a joke.

If Terry wants to coach he needs to start over as an OC somewhere and show that he can still recruit and coach. At this point he just looks like a slut with an STD. In fact, you ought to change your coach search bar scene articles to picture a topless Terry Bowden jumping at every AD that entered the bar.

I have no insider knowledge of this, but I’m going to go ahead and start that rumor that Western Carolina University rejected overtures by Terry Bowden as well. My original alma mater is quite capable of losing to The Citadel without you good sir.

Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

My sister, being an Alumnus of SMU, just dodged a bullet of additonal football shame to our family.

Herb – I wouldn’t want Terry Bowden coaching your team, considering the close proximity of so many meth labs.

They went the next step up anyway – hiring one of the castoffs from Nebraska’s Callahan Epoch.

No, No, and No: Bowden shot by SMU.
Now that, fine sir, would be a great headline.

There appears to be some truth to the rumor that SMU only offered half price to the half pint.

One sentence from the article:

“Bowden told the source that he had talked to SMU officials before then-head coach Phil Bennett was fired on Oct. 28 about the possibility of being head coach for the Mustangs.”

Tells you all you need to know.

Terry Bowden is to smurf pariah as SMU Football Coach is to career poison.

I dont think there is enough bars around SMU for Terry to hang out in…..after all its a Methodist University, or does it stand for Meth? Hey, Im the Coach at Southern Meth……and I’ve lost 50 lbs, I dont eat, and I stay up all night watching film, then I take the DVD player apart and put it back together again, then I close the blinds and hide for no apparent reason……make the players go away…..I only coach at nite…..

  1. mr. PP:

What an illustrious and illuminated presentation of my three years in Denver.
Wait, you were there, weren’t you. I knew I saw someone hiding in the shadows.
Damn you, meth!

The little cornpone must be all out of money. If he’s such an offensive genius (offensive, yes-genius, no), then why doesn’t he move back in with the ‘rents and help the old man win another dozen and a half games over the next three years while they wait for Paterno to have the inevitable Woody Hayes-esque meltdown that necessitates his resignation. Then St. Bobby could finally retire, Terry can become head coach of the Noles, Jimbo gets shown the clause in the contract that says that he gets to be the "next head coach at Florida State University not named ’Bowden’ ".

Terry Bowden is the best game-day coach I’ve ever seen. Its the other 353 days of the year that give him problems.
