Best part of this thread is the first-person expertise on ankle bracelets. Ya just knew that EDSBS only takes the top 1% of 1%.

Absolutely 100% genuine. There's an officiating discussion board I visit, and we've had several discussions about players wearing bracelets. The consensus varies depending on whether you've had to work a game with one of these players in it: if you haven't, the answer is "of course he can wear it as long as it's suitably padded", and if you have then the answer is whatever the state office says it is, which is usually that he can wear it regardless of whether it's padded or not.

I thought coaches gave these devices to their players to cut down on "character issues"?, no?

How can you tell which schools are playing, you can't see the helmets and I don't see any opposing players.

Is there a different version of the picture that I missed?

My senior year in HS, the corner who covered me in one of the games wore a house arrest braclet. The coaches at the other school, which I won't name let him play because he got in trouble over the summer not in season. Yes that looks like a house arrest braclet.

I love the South, and I have never seen quite the sad desperation as some of the old mill towns in Connecticut had.

LA is in it's own little world.

Fun fact: At my old school, a southern baptist football factory HS, (don't you just love the south) we had a classmate who fathered a child at 14 and the coaches covered it up for 3 years. Once the headmaster and the board found out, he was gone. As in one period he was in class the next he gone.

2 years ago jermaine pennant played with an ankle tag. He was in prison for borrowing his teammates car (whilst banned from driving for drink driving) after the teams xmas party. He was very drunk again, crashed the car into a lamppost. The car was £70,000 which he had to pay to his teammate as well as 4 months in prison
