When the hell did troy’s offense “scare the daylights out of Georgia?” The final score of the game wasn’t as close as it appeared. They scored a late 8 with the walk-ons on the field, literally. Their coach did have some quotes in the paper afterwards, he appeared to have an inflated sense of importance. Noboby is scared of their quad right bubble screens. Auburn doesn’t have qb’s or receivers to make his offense work immediately. Troy was the best team in Alabama last year and Hougabook was the best qb. Franklin is going to feel similar to Bobby Petrino after next year.

Ya know whats funny about this Franklin hire at Auburn??
He was the “whistleblower” at Kentucky that got them in trouble……ya have to wonder how long it takes to blow the whistle on Tubbs?

From what I’ve been hearing, Auburn isn’t actually going to the spread. They will introduce “elements of the spread”, similar to what LSU ran this year.

I saw someone comment that Auburn has the personnel to run this. How is that? Their receivers were their second biggest liability behind the OLine. Still, it’s a good hire and the system does suit Burns, even though I have no idea how well he can throw the ball (please don’t throw out high school stats. They’re well nigh meaningless).

But, why would AU do that? The spread O won’t work in the SEC. The defenses are too fast. It’s a gimmicky, trickeration-riddled overhyped joke of an offense. I read that on-line so I know it’s true. Other things I’ve learned on the interwebs:

1) Charlie Weiss is a genius/savior/guru
2) X Lee at F$U is an early favorite for Heisman 2008
3) Tebow can’t pass.

And I’m pretty sure Kodi Burns could pull it off. I was sure they’d reshirt him in 2008 so he could absorb more of Borges’ advanced calculus level playbook. But now I think Kodi is our starter next year.

#22, you are wrong, so wrong about our QB stock – in addition to Kodi Burns on campus already, we’ve got committments from DeRon Furr and his #1 receiver Jarmon Fortner who are poised to win the Georgia AAA state championship this weekend running the spread. Oh, and there’s the other QB commit, Barrett Trotter, who ran the spread all the way to the Alabama 5A championship game.
