If Michigan is so dumb as to get that close to the Bay Area and miss out on a great choice with Michigan ties, then Jim Harbaugh was right.

Jim Harbaugh will never coach at Michigan. Ever. Not for a second. Will. Not. Happen.
As a matter of fact, I’m not even sure that he any affiliation with Michigan – you may find hints of his existence and claims that he played at Michigan in the news media, but by now I am sure that any University of Michigan record related to him has been scrubbed.

If Michigan wants to collapse every year after starting anywhere from 4-0 to 6-0, then that’s their right — however, that is what happens under a Jeff Tedford-coached ship.

Bonus points to Michigan.
The leaves drop earlier in Ann Arbor. Tedford could pick off hippies with his pellet gun in early October at the latest.

S2N,
The odd collapse in a big game or 7 notwithstanding Tetford has done an amzing job at Cal. Do you have any fucking idea what a football hell hole Cal is? The shitty facilities, the lack of fan support, the hippies, etc., etc., etc The Duke of the west at best (speaking of which wtf is up with Bobby Johnson to Duke?!?!)
Michigan would have to be an appealing choice for Tetford although he is fond of Cal (the state).
As a Cal alumn (I went there over Michigan, among other places, the charms of the Moeller era being somewhat less than overwhelming) I would almost be relieved to have the place return to its rightful place at the bottom of the shit pile rather than occasionally flirting with greatness before having my face slammed in the dirt.

Comparing Cal to Duke is a little ridiculous. Yeah the facilities suck but they’re averaging 60k+ which is more than Duke could do if they doubled the size of their stadium.

#13 – oh, I know Tedford has worked miracles at Cal with circumstances that would send a less hardy man running or at least to the trees with a crossbow.
I’m just saying that Michigan won’t exactly find its savior, though. Despite his achievements, his offenses somehow manage to botch games they should win going away all too often, as I’m sure you’re familiar with.

#13, 16: Do you think that Tedford let Longshore play injured this year so he could get a chance to figure out how to game-plan for a statue-like QB? That would be pretty good practice for working at Michigan

15 – yes at the moment the attendance disparity is dramatic but it was much less so 15 years ago. I have friends that were at Duke at the end of the Spurrier era and they were routinely getting in excess of 30k (roughly capacity I believe) whereas there were certainly games I went to at Memorial in the early and mid 90s when there were less than 40 and occasionally fewer than 30k. The great success Cal has enjoyed under Tetford until 2 months ago this coming Thurdsay has also generated crowds approaching capacity but the enthusiasm amongst such has ceertainly been dramatically less than one would find not only in the SEC but even at the relatively placid Big House.

Great points as I conceed in my first sentence. Tetford would, however, run a much more innovative offense than they’ve had in Michigan probably since at leas the 1940s and he has generally excelled with player development wherever he has been (I say generally rather then universally because a certain Mr. Longshore has been under his tutelage for over 3 years and has to date been somewhat underwhelming though decent last year). With the resources in Ann Arbor he would win at least as much as Lllllloyd and do so in a more exciting way. Even the sainted Bo never won an MNC and had very little success in bowls (did OK vs. tOSU, though).

I think we need to put Les Miles on a Saban-o-meter on outright lying while still in pursuit of the job. Right now, I think he is probably hovering around a 7. Personally, I think it worse to lie to college kids about your intention to stay as opposed to pro players who should be used to it, so maybe Miles will ultimately score an 11 on the Saban-o-meter and it will need to be renamed.

Marcillac @ 21, true enough, that Forsett character wreaked havoc. Unfortunate that they weren’t able to ride that skill to offset Longshore’s 4th quarter mayhem.
As for Moan-inho, he’s too good for the likes of the English national team – it would take about 45 minutes before he realized that the tea-lady at Chelksi had more organizational vision than Brian Barwick.

As a lifelong Georgia fan i make this plea humbly and sincerely…please PLEASE Tebow, use your strange Major Dad inspired buzz cut and warlock powers to decimate the wolverines to the point where it merits a special episode of Dr. Phil complete with slow motion montages set to the tune of Green Day’s “Time of your Life”
