Remember, Broyles was a big man at Ga Tech before his term at Arkansas. He still has old, old, (possibly on a ventilator) ties to Tech, and may have helped Nutt land the job as a parachute, to go along with his settlement.
I’m curious as to how much they’ll shell out for his successor. The going rate for a SEC head-hunting top notch coach is a minimum of 3 million. Let’s see what they shake loose.

OK, Nutt to Georgia Tech does worry me a little (even though Richt is 4-0 against him). Any coach with his kind of “doing more with less” reputation would fit Tech’s current situation to a T.
Nevertheless, I have a hard time picturing him in Techland — his particular brand of crazy wouldn’t seem to be an especially good fit at a place that’s obsessed with telling you how stringent their players’ academic requirements are. But I bet he’d be a blast to hang out with at the Pink Pony.
