Let me restate: if you’re a running back, shouldn’t you be better than the other running backs on your team?

I’d guess the blown call where you got a free 50-yard gain on 3rd and long pinned against your own goal line, when the receiver previously went out of bounds and came back in, leading to your second TD against MSU, is a bigger one than that right now. Especially since as I see it, OSU is (or should be) in the driver’s seat – they should be ahead of WVU and all the two-loss teams, and one of Kansas and Mizzou will knock the other out. Perhaps most importantly of all, OSU doesn’t have to sit at the table any more until bowl season, while everyone else in the hunt still has at least one more opportunity for MAO! to happen.
(Not that I’m bitter or anything about that blown call. We had our chances after that and couldn’t get the job done, just as you had your chances against Illinois and blew it. Bitching about blown calls ought to be limited to those that occur so late in the game that they *can’t* be recovered from.)

Don V: When the other RB is also an All-American worthy RB, and a first round pick in the next NFL draft, it is no sin.
If you’d watched much Arkansas football, you’d see how they use each back to compliment one another, and how McFadden is the straw that stirs the drink.

Wasn’t many, however many it was, Artist. But we’d have had at least one more after you punted from your own 1 yard line if they’d made the correct call.
Not relevant to my point, though. Two separate games, a blown call on a potential momentum-swinger very early in each. One went your way, the other didn’t. Both games ended up being decided by a touchdown, in favor of the team that the botched call aided. If you’re going to bitch about the Illinois play, I have just as much right to bitch about the MSU one. And the latter is probably more relevant to the national title chase – at 11-1, you’re closer to the mortal lock to make the title game you would be at 12-0 than you are to the no-chance pretender you’d be at 10-2.
