It was the first item of the pre-game program, while most fans were still sitting. During the announcement, the entire stadium rose to their feet to pay respect. Normally during a moment of silence in the stadium, the folks still out on the concourse don't know what's happening and you can still hear them. Even they were quiet. In something ironic and eerie, the only thing you could hear was a police siren. They also announced a fund set up by Stacy's brother to help them through this. Having lived 27 years without college football, it was challenging to sit through the games at first. Finally, Siran Stacy caught my eye with his enthusiastic entry onto the football field. I watched for his jersey each Saturday and eventually learned the game. My heartfelt sympathy to Siran, his family, and friends. I can't fathom the gut-wrenching loss he is feeling, but I hope and pray that he will find comfort and that God will hold him in his mighty hands of love. As Orson stated, this is beyond tragic. As a father of two young children, I cannot bear to even attempt to put myself in his shoes. I can imagine a feeling of having nothing to live for, but the little girl he has left is what he has to live for now.
