#82 Mr. Pelican Pants. Auburn best QB rides the pine and should be starting. He is a top 50 out of one FS Northside HS ( same one that Matt Jones played at) that NUtt failed to sign and lost to due to "year of the dog" book fall out fiasco. I now know how state of Texas felt when Friday Night Lights came out. Heard the writer was an Ole Miss grad, william Faulkner must be turning over in his grave. Ole Miss used to be Arkansas homecoming doormats when they were in the SWC. True freshman, Tigers at least have a QB for next 3 years while no one wants to play for NUtt.

came off the bench when Miss State was pounding the shi** out of them, got them back in the game and then for some reason Tuberville put the other QB. Scary good, fast and smart.

550lucia, have you forgotten Notre Dame? Sure, they aren't overrated this year [unless you think "worst team ever" is too kind for them, and it might be], but they usually are. Horribly so, I might add.

So any game where the favored team fails to cover is an "upset" now?

An upset is when an undermanned squad drops a superior/better funded opponent, not when a clearly superior team mops the field with an inferior one that Vegas oddsmakers were trying to encourage betting on...

Are you kidding me, bnb614? That’s the best that you Big Ten shills can come up with? To refer to Florida’s blasting of Ohio State as an “upset?”

OSU was favored, Florida won. What would you call it?

Florida kicked their ass but it was still an upset based on pre-game predictions.

Sure.

(And BTW, enough with the revisionist history regarding Illinois' loss to Mizzou. The Tigers went up 37-13 in that game and clearly let off the gas, and the Illini rallied to make the score respectable... nothing more.)

Props to Zook's crew for getting the job done on Saturday (especially since it takes a little of the sting out of my team's loss in Champaign two weeks ago), but let's get a hold of ourselves here. The Illini may only be several plays from being undefeated, but they are also only a few plays away from being 5-6, too.

Top 3 SEC teams:
1. LSU
2. The new Georgia
3. Florida
Top 3 Big 10 teams:
1. Ohio State
2.Penn State?
3. Michigan
Top Big 12 teams:
1.Kansas
2.Oklahoma
3.Texas
Top Pac 10:
1.Oregon
2.ASU
3.USC
Big East:
1.WVU-thats it

In a 4 team playoff after Conf. playoffs, who makes it and who wins out?
The four teams being #1 Lsu, #2 Oregon,#3 Kansas or Oklahoma or Mizzou, then WVU...or Kansas after a loss?
How does this play out in a perfect world?

Who can beat LSU out of all them?
I gotta say Big 12 looks good this year

In regards to your suggestion to check CFDataWarehouse, no thanks. I am sure I could find facts to back up any argument I wanted, just like you did. That is the problem with college football, in the absence of a playoff system people use facts to say whatever argument they want to make. It is how sports analysts get people inflamed enough to listen, and call in.

To use a movie quote:

"People want playoffs, Mr. President, and in the absence of playoffs, they'll listen to anyone who steps up to the microphone. They want playoffs. They're so thirsty for it they'll crawl through the desert toward a mirage, and when they discover there's no playoffs, they'll drink up twisted facts to make any argument."

"People don't drink up twisted facts because they're thirsty. They drink up twisted facts because they don't know the difference."

If you want to talk facts, go to the CFBDatawarehouse. Find all the facts you can to refute any claim that the SEC is the historically premier conference. Your fruitless search should effectively shut down this chain.

Sorry southernturd.

You are right, when OSU plays 2 #2 teams in the regular season, they are frauds. Michigan loses their bowl game and is exposed as frauds. What does that say about Arkansas and Tennessee getting beat by Big 10 teams?

When a 2 loss Pac-10 team beats Tennessee, when a 3 loss Kentucky beats the best team in the SEC, when an unranked Auburn beats Florida, when an unranked Big East team and an unranked Miss St beats Auburn, etc , etc , etc , etc it just shows how damn superior the SEC is than everyone else.

Don't let the facts interfere with your arguments.

"Have you looked at OSU’s schedule? Last season they became the first #1 team to play 3 #2 ranked teams in the same season."

2 of those "#2" teams were Michigan and Texas, who were both exposed as frauds. Texas with late season autoerotic asphyxiations against K-St. and A&M, and Michigan in their bowl game against USC.

The other #2 team was Florida, who pounded that Buckeye ass so harshly I almost felt bad for them. Almost.

So spare me the talk of their tough schedule. The only thing that little facturd shows is how flawed the voting system is.
