Illinois 28, Ohio State 21. The season in the boathouse continues. MAO!

Illini are indeed getting better and better, and Ohio State runs aground at home.

Remember. Florida losing at home to an unranked team and three times more on the season just shows their conference depth.
OSU doing it at home just shows how overrated we are.
Anyway, back to my crow.

We got Zooked. Hats off to the Zookers. They played a perfect game while the clock was running, too bad they had to tarnish a great victory by stomping on the Block O at midfield and starting a fight.

Sucks to be an OSU fan right now. Oh well, life isn’t fair. If it were, OSU would drop to 2nd after a single loss (hello, LSU bias).
However, this does set the stage for the single biggest pile of crow ever to be eaten: Oregon-LSU for the MNC. When Oregon humbles LSU in it’s hometown of The City Under The Sea, I fully expect 500 word acknowledgments of PAC 10 superiority from anyone who has every uttered the phrase Geaux Tigers.
PS: those victories over Alabama, Kentucky, and Florida don’t look so good right now, do they?

I’m so afraid that Zook and Co. will lose to Northwestern’s crazy offense next week.
I think Oregon – LSU would be a good MNC, but we’re assuming they don’t lose.
Kansas (Kansas!) has a legit argument if they win out – very legit, being that they have to beat 9-1 Mzzou and a 1 loss Oklahoma team.

Wow. OSU players and fans and playersreally show their true colors. When they win, the fans burn and destory property. When they lose, the players start a fight with the other team.
CLASS IS OUT IN COLUMBUS!
You know how you separate the 1-loss teams? Look at who they lost to. If you lose to an unranked team at home and under the lights, you lose all bragging rights. OSU, MAO!!!!!!!

Anyone who has watched Illinois play this year should know that they are a much improved team with a nice collection of talent. They played #5 Mizzu to the wire and they have knocked off the #1 team on the road. As sick to my stomach as I am right now, I still have to tip my hat to those guys. They are much better than they get credit for.
I think the bowl season is going to be real interesting.
Georgia might be the hottest team in the country right now.

A Illinois-Florida Capital One Bowl would probably get more hype than any of the non-MNC BCS games, especially since it’s one of only three January bowl games our mouse-eared overlords control.
On the other hand, I’d like to see Illinois lose to Northwestern so that Penn State can sneak into the Capital One.

Well, if you’re sorting the 1-loss teams by loss (coaches poll ranks):
1. Arizona State (Oregon – #3)
2. Missouri (Oklahoma – #4)
3. LSU (Kentucky- #22)
4. Oregon (Cal – #27)
5. Ohio State (Illinois – #29)
6. Boston College (Florida State – #31)
7. West Virginia (South Florida – #37)
8. Oklahoma (Colorado – no votes)
9. Boise State (Washington – no votes)
Somehow, I doubt that’s the best way to rank them.

I may be wrong, but i actually think MAO in the vietnamese boathouse is from the Vietnamese language.
“Didi Mao” was about the extent of most GIs Viet in that conflict. Loosely translated: “Move your ass! I think “Mao” means “GO”.
All the GIs I know from that era say “lets’ didi”, as slang for “let’s go”.

I personally would rank Boise State ahead of Michigan, but I think the pollsters might intentionally rank Michigan ahead of Boise State just so the Sugar Bowl gets its choice of team.

You knew the meat-grinder that is the Big10 would eventually catch up to OSU. I mean you can only get up for Indiana, Iowa, Northwestern, Purdue, Minnesotta et al so many times before you slip up.
Seriously, though, Illinois has a good collection of talent. Anytime you have a stud back like that, some capable receivers, and a dual threat QB–then you have a team that can beat anyone on any given Saturday, or lose miserably. Zook really has brought the mid level SEC team to the Big10.
NOTE–you guys confused about Mao need to go watch the Deer Hunter, it’s well worth your time.

Juice ran around and was trying to run the clock completely down, he’s fair game if he doesn’t immediately take a knee.
As to the fight, the word is that the Ohio State players were gathering at the middle of the field to take a knee and have their usual moment of prayer when several of the Illinois players started stomping the O.
It doesn’t matter, hats off to the Zookers, they are the most improved team in the Big Ten, possibly the country. They played a perfect game and really took it to our defense. No excuses no whining.

I’m going to laugh my ass off if LSU handily wins the national championship, the SEC wins 80% of its bowl games (note that assuming Vanderbilt beats Wake Forest that means all but one SEC team will be in a bowl game), and every idiot on here that thinks that in-conference schedule implies the strength of a conference relative to other conferences is sitting dumbstruck in front of their monitor.

Depressing, yet we were in a rebuilding year. I trust Tress to get the guys off the mat and beat UM. Go to the Rose Bowl and beat a Pac 10 or an at-large team. 12-1 is a good season, yet still not what could have been. I am in Orange Beach this weekend and the whole state of Alabama is in lockdown tonight. I believe it will be a quiet ride home, where UGA fans will resume their ridicule. LSU fans better not count their chickens yet, UGA could ruin your New Years too. This is the wildest year I’ve ever seen in college football and I’ve been around longer than most.

I was at the game (and admittedly a tOSU fan) and there was no “fight”, but great embellishment by some of the above folks . The Illini stomped the ‘O’ (more power to them…they played a great game), tOSU came out and pushed them off and then they had their post-game prayer….it was a non-event.

At this point, when do we stop saying that this conference sucks and that one is good and start talking about the overall parity among the top to middle conferences in college football?
