I am harboring a wicked girl-crush on Katee Sackhoff. She plays this cigar-chomping, firewater-swilling, foul-mouthed, enticingly damaged badass (like Tim Riggins, only a hot girl), and she does it on the best show on television (it has killer robots in space; do not argue this point), along with your most recent Mustache Wednesday honoree. I am in awe of the expatriate Southerners living on the West Coast who have to get up at 8AM on Saturdays to have an hour, at least, to get ready for the noon or noon:thirty kickoffs.

Not a Southerner, but a Midwesterner and back in 1994 and 1995 I was living in Alaska and had to get up at 7:00 to catch noon kickoffs. Amazingly enough, I was generally able to find a bar with a satellite open at that hour.

Timezones:
When I was in Thailand, I would get up at 3am to listen to Larry Munson streaming audio and watch ESPN GameCast to keep up with the Dogs.
I was only able to watch them twice, once when Yahoo streamed the video and another on ESPN GamePlan thanks to a Sooner fan that let me borrow her code.

The Dirk Benedict / Lorne Green version of Battlestar Galactica is the only one I’ve ever seen (I used to love it when I was a kid!). I have not seen the new iteration but everyone seems to say it’s pretty good. Worth the time to start from the beginning on DVD?
