Shula lost to Auburn 4 straight times, plus he got Croomed, plus his team couldn't find the end zone and progressively got worse as the season went on. Alabama looks lights year better on offense already and while the defense is allowing too many points, it is getting use to a new defense without all the players in place yet.

Saban is a great recruiter and puts together a great staff (that can recruit as well). Too bad he was not at LSU to reap the benefits of his #1 and #2 recruiting class that is now graduating. He is a good coach, but I would agree-the SEC is loaded in great head coaches and Saban is not the best.

One more question then I'm done. If Little Nicky loses to AU three straight are you going to fire him like you did Shula? The only reason people think Saban is great is because he keeps telling you how great he is. Just ask some recruits how many times during a phone call or a visit he mentions how great he is. He has no Loyalty to Bammer. It is come play for Nicky the Great. Not come play for our scandal plauged university(bookgate, Logan Young, Mike Dubose's sec.)Let me see some consistency like Tuberville(10-1 against top 10 oppenents), Richt (multiple 10 win seasons), or Spurrier(while at Florida). One season when you can only claim 1/2 a national title doesn't make you a great coach.

I have split loyalties; Ole Miss by blood, Bama by virtue of a terminal degree, MS State by employment. In the end, Ole Miss wins out. I personally hope Tubs leaves so the Aubies can feel the pain and outright betrayal that Rebel fans felt in 1998...like someone tore out your heart and stomped that sucker flat.

Though that won't really matter...I hear rather than face another embarrasing season, Ole Miss has disbanded its football team and cancelled the rest of the season. The fans, still hanging out in the Grove with their tents and coolers, haven't noticed.

And this just in...Kansas scored again.

Look, some of us were born to play golf, and others were born to study "turf management." Doesn't make one better than the other.

Senior in HS- 17 or 18

6th grader- 11 or 12

Years since Alabama beat Auburn: nearly 6 (11/17/01)

They most likely would have been in the 6th grade and many elementary schools include the 6th grade (mine didn't).

The way RIP stated it, it looked like he was poking fun of the term "Elementary School" as archaic. If his point was the one you stated, then it was a very weak one (as you noted).

64:

Hopefully you intentionally missed RIP's point. If not, I believe he meant that a senior in high school would have seen Alabama beat Auburn in middle school. Not much difference, and oh dear God it's been so long.

That being said. Mr. Good Leg, I thought Auburn was a family? Surely, no one that goes to Auburn bases the decision on wins and losses in silly football. Why, that would be dangerously close to basing one's self worth on a football team...

RIP,

Elementary school still exists to this day in many places. My elementary school still uses that term to refer to itself. "Junior high" and "middle school" don't refer to the 1st-5th grade usually, which is known by many as Elementary school. I believe the archaic term which you seek is "grammar school," which was a term my mid/late 50’s parents used.

Most kids these days attend something called "junior high" or "middle school." Based on your writing, I'm assuming you were bringing in the peanut crop during those crucial developmental years.

Mr. Good Leg,

Unfortunately, the Tahders begin brainwashing their children with lies almost at birth. Maybe you've seen the 'Got 12' T-shirts on children born a good 8 or more years after the UA,T's last MNC.

How can facts compete with that? Little Johnny red neck is going to grow up thinking if only he plays for the Tide, THEN the glory days will come back.

It's a religion, man. Can't compete with that.

Think about this for a moment, say you have a child who is a senior in HS this year. Your child hasn't seen West Vance beat Auburn since he was in Elementary school. So yes I think we already have your children Alabama.
