WHICH BUYOUT PACKAGE WOULD YOU LIKE?
Don’t make me get the health department in here…Coach Dennis Franchione here, and believe what you’re hearing–I am willing to accept a buyout. In fact, I’m excited about accepting this buyout and all it has to offer me.
Remember, though, that here at Texas A&M my staff and I have done nothing but fight for the best every single day. We believe in–caps for championship emphasis–HOLDING THE ROPE, day in and day out for the Aggie Nation. And that’s just what I’m gonna do here in this negotiation. The hands? Mine. The metaphorical rope? That’s your dicks, gentlemen.
What have I got to hold your balls to your ceremonial bonfire, sirs?
Well, I sold hot dogs on campus from a cart near the Agricultural Science buildings for the past three years. I was clearing 2600 a month on that thing, and that’s with what, like, 20 hours of labor a week? Shit, with this coaching thing going and the email newsletter I was up to my ears in loot.
I bought a new Camry. With cash, guys! That’s just how good things were!
Anyway, I never got a license and bought my dogs across the border from my close friend Antonio, a Mexican gentleman who sold warm meats out of his trunk. I don’t even know what kind of meat they were, but Coach Fran’s Giggin’ Weenies sold like crack on a cheap bun one you put a little mustard on them and put ol’ coach behind the steamer.
But then someone got a hold of a fishy dog, and got sick. How sick? I’ll be frank with you: they got very sick. So sick they almost paid the ultimate price: paralysis, a fate worse than death. Imagine it, being trapped in your own body like a prisoner in reeking, fleshy cage! A living hell, I bet.
Not, this kid got off easier than that–he died. And when his family thought of going to public health, suing the university, and ruining my reputation along with that of Antonio the warm meat merchant and lastly this fine university, I wouldn’t accept it. So I had a brief talk with his surviving family and offered them forty dollars and an autographed Dennis Franchione HOLD THE ROPE T-SHIRT for their silence and forgiveness. It’s very important to establish trust with those around you, and I genuinely sought to do that.
I was shocked when they refused. Oh, they made a lot of ruckus when I set the house on fire. Whew, and they got even louder when I started firing! But it was for the greater good and after enough screaming and carrying on and hours of me chasing them all through the woods, I think they understand where I’m coming from, and what I’m trying to teach here. I think we’ve all come through this even closer than when we started, and I’ve generously paid for their hotel room while they begin to rebuild the lives they once knew before I destroyed them.
Anyway, the really serious part is the hot dog license without a permit, which could be a fine of up to hundreds of dollars here. If you don’t want the Bryan and College Station Health Department on you like a bag of barking hammers, you better give Coach Fran what he wants. You don’t know hell until you’ve gotten a kitchen inspection from them. For a mere $2 million dollars, that’s what you can avoid. Your choice, friends. Choose wisely.

I, for one, am heartbroken at the prospect of Tubby leaving.
Bama fans have spent four miserable years with Tubby’s fingers jammed in our face. IMO, a “real” coach would have gone at least 50-50 against Jug’Ears over the last 4 years. Instead, Wingnut benefitted from the Shula experiment, and chose to rub our noses in it.
I want revenge. I want blood. I want Erkle pants to take it like a man.

We can give him a hell of a send off in a few weeks….
I think we can hopefully Mangino the Barn and make him want to go to A/M since, after this year, Alabama aint gonna let up for the next 5 yrs, I promise.
LSU wont be a factor next yr, and our only challenge in taking over the SEC universe will be Georgia and Florida. Miles will be at Michigan, Tubby will be at A/M, and Fulmer will be on his last yr, OBC will still be looking for a starting QB and a defense, and Crooms talent will have dried up, Coach O will just be glad to be there, and I am hoping Georgia will be Georgia and cant be consistent, and Fla will only have 2 offensive plays with a QB with a bum shoulder in a sling, only problem is you can cut Tebows arms off and he will still rush for 150 yrds with the ball in his teeth.

Fulmer is going to Waffle House.
With the exceptions of Coach O, Croom, and Nutt (he won’t leave Fayetteville until he’s in a pine box, which the Hawg nation is measuring right now) all other SEC coaches are retiring.
All of these are confirmed, and anyone who doubts this is delusional. What is, slightly, surprising is that no one will be hired to replace these coaches. Football will no longer be a sport in the SEC. No one can face Lord Saban.
Sadly for the Tide, in two years Saban will be Raptured to Heaven to sit at the right hand of the Bear Almighty and become God’s greatest recruiter.

Bama fans should save their celebration. Tuberville isn’t going anywhere and Saban is not going to Auburn, this year anyway.
I know you are all thrilled with your moral victory versus Saban, but LSU’s mistakes kept Bama in that game – not Saban’s coaching prowess. 130 penalty yards for LSU and 20 rushing yards and 14/40 passing for Alabama speaks for itself.
I wish that LSU had screwed up that many times against Auburn. If they had, AU would have beaten them by 2 touchdowns.

at least in auburn, tubby has had the good fortune to thrash his in-state rival for several years running – he won’t have that luxury against the bonghorns – on top of that, auburn fans pale in comparison to aggys, who are w/out a doubt the most annoying bunch of mouth breathers in college football – i see no reason why tubby would leave – i do, however, see a lot of reason why he’ll use the tx aggy offer to up his pay from auburn

You’re sort of right, though, in that the inordinate amount of undeserved attention Alabama gets is irritating. The Bear is dead, already, and Bama has been no more or less relevant than South Carolina since, with the exception of 1992 -the year they won a MNC (although Sagarin gave it to FSU?)

I’ll take the bait. I wouldn’t count that W just yet. Sure, LSU penalties had a lot to do with Bama moving the ball, but don’t forget that, even though JP was only 14 of 40, he threw 3 TD passes. That, plus a punt return TD. If I were an aubie, I’d be a little hesitant about discounting Bama just yet. Bama may not have much depth, but they certainly have guys capable of making huge plays.

I agree with you Tater. One of the reasons Bama was in that game for so long was that JPW seemed to be cured of his, “Whenver I throw the ball deep it’s going to be overthrown” syndrome. If he doesn’t hit those, the game is a massacre, even with the penalties. Will JPW be able to continue to hit the deep ball? That remains to be seen.

Paper today said he had 239 all purpose yards against LSU. I will be very surprised if AU kicks to him at all.
For what it’s worth, JP hasn’t ever really been able to throw the deep ball. If anything, it’s always underthrown. It’s more the senior class wideouts making adjustments to get to the ball. There were only 3 actual deep balls I remember against LSU (alcohol related I am sure). One was I think a combination of blown coverage and a good move by DJ that DJ ran a long way after the catch. The other two were to Caddell, one completely underthrown with an adjustment, the other reversed on replay with Caddell diving.

“What team is scared of whoms coach?”
While that was a valiant effort to use correct grammar, I believe you came just a wee bit short.
As for “Bammers” (cracks me up every time) and their perception of Tubs, I’ll say this: most of us, if we’re honest, think he’s a good coach who has taken advantage of a golden opportunity to kick Alabama while they were down. And that’s to his credit. He can only play the team that Bama puts on the field. He has taken care of his business the last five years against Shula on (as you Barners like to say) “near death penalty probation” and Franchione, who was already out the door to TAMU. He has seized the opportunity to get the upper hand on Alabama, and he has done so because he is a solid coach.
Would I like to see Tubs leave AU? Yes and no. Yes, because I’d like for AU to experience just a little taste of the kind of turmoil and instability that Bama has endured since Stallings retired. No, because Bama is beginning to regain its footing and there is plenty of payback to be doled out to that gloating ass.
