Haha, Deal Croominator!

State fans, don’t get all pissy. I’m glad State is coming up in the world…but Oktibbeha county is a dry county number one, number two….I’m far more likely to step in cow shit in starkville than I am in almost any other SEC city(biting my tongue on a certain college I don’t like)….and, unbiased, there are a lot more things to do on the strip, and in the city of Tuscaloosa in general than in Starkville. Hell, i wish it weren’t true…I LIVE HERE! Maybe when they build the new Ultra mall in 2009 or something(which will actually be in Lowndes) but right now…NO.

Now, I’m going to go get some food at Perry.

Spooky, I’m also a multi-SEC fan inexplicably. First and foremost I’m actually an Ole Miss fan (despite the fact I post as “the croominator”). Born and raised in Oxford, plus a BA; cut me I bleed red and blue. I also like Alabama, being I have my master’s from there and I fell in love with Tuscaloosa. But ya gotta go where the jobs are, which brings me to my final rooting interest–Mississippi State. Yes, they DO have a habit of hiring Alabama grads, I’ve noticed! And the Egg Bowl will of course be an enormous headache for me.

Do me a favor…I won’t tell your boss about blogging during business hours if you don’t tell mine!

Spooky, there seem to be about 16,000 18-22 year olds that chose Starkville over other college towns. Also, what exactly is there for black athletes to do in T-town, or Gainesville, or anywhere else that you can’t do in Starkville? Besides play in a meaningful bowl game.

I’m pretty sure you can walk down University Drive in Starkville and find any number of bars/restaurants that would rival the Strip in Tuscaloosa or the Square in Oxford….Not that either of those places are that cosmopolitan.

Ok, let me clarify for the simple

My favorite team for as long as I can remember(and always will be) the University of Alabama. No team, in or out of conference, comes close. When Vanderbilt is not playing Alabama, i like for them to play well as they usually are the underdog and play their hearts out. I also like to see State do pretty well seeing as how I’m gainfully employed by them, grew up nearby, and they hire an Alabama alum with every job opening(seemingly).

Sorta the same way most Florida fans kinda like to see South Cakolaki do well because of OBC.

SpookyJuice #17 – I applaud the conflagration of thoughts that must be your mind during football season. How in the hell can you have more than one (and you have 3) favorite SEC teams? I hate every SEC team except my Alma mater, South Carolina. I hate you all. I wish every other SEC team bad things (not horrible, just bad- like the losing end of a sportsman’s fart). I only root for you when you’re playing out of conference teams, or Alabama.
You should be on that show, whatever the f it’s called, where they judge amateurs mind tricks and illusions. Hats off to you!

my conference is clearly better than your conference. i can prove it by pointing to a relatively small sample size and assuming that teams never improve, never suffer from injuries, never add players midway through the season, and never participate in games where they play better or worse than usual. also, i will ignore that match-ups and familiarity don’t play a role in games.

Or would you rather keep arguments like FSU beat Colorado who beat OU going so we can make the point that the ACC-middln’ Noles are better than the entire Big 12 South.

Or maybe we could revisit that the Big 10 has lost 2 games to I-AA squads.

btw HailState, don’t necessarily take it as an insult. The turn around that is being done by Croom is nothing short of amazing. He has won with less talent almost every game he has won…which will increase talent.
