Yeah, but I wonder what has the cheerleader and dude with camera phone so intrigued.

Hey Dorsey, Before “Orgeroned” becomes a part of the lexicon, doesn’t he have to, you know, Orgeron somebody?
by fresh on Oct 29, 2007 1:36 PM EDT reply actions
@ fresh,
i guess so, but the whole point is that its so rare that you are fucking humiliated. all i know is getting “orgeroned” cannot be pleasant.

Croomed is just fun to say. It will never die…because what basically just happened is, he beat a team with a bunch of kids who voluntarily went to Starkville, MS. I mean, shouldn’t you be able to get a better team in Oxford(or anywhere) than Starkville? It is (and will always be) Croomed because of way more reasons than can be counted.
by SpookyJuice on Oct 29, 2007 1:47 PM EDT reply actions
According the Urban Dictionary (an unimpeachable source), “Croomed” means to be fired after losing to a bad team.
Since MSU is actually decent this year, it’s morphed into just losing to Croom.

I would just like to point out something for you SEC fans….
Miss. State has beaten Kentucky and Auburn on the road. They went to West Virginia and got slaughtered, to the tune of 31-0 (or 31-3, cant remember) at half.
And that vaunted Auburn team, who beat Florida, also lost at home to South Florida. A USF team that just lost to UConn.
My point? The SEC, save for LSU, is vastly overrated as a whole this year.

#8: What’s wrong with Starkville? And when was your last trip?
by hailstate on Oct 29, 2007 1:52 PM EDT reply actions
#2…because Croom still has the worst team, with the worst talent in the league. (Ole Miss has far more talent, in a Plan vs Manos Hands of Fate sorta’ way). Thus, when one loses (e.g., doesn’t show up, trips on one’s collective dick, turns the ball over half a dozen times), then you are deservedly mocked and your coach scorned and/or fired.

- - Don’t forget that the potential SEC West Champion, Alabama, was worked by the, at best, 5th best team in the ACC, FSU, on a neutral field.
No, it is the parity of the SEC that makes them so great this season…
or not.

Damn if Saban beats Miles, then Saban gets Croomed, what kind of world would we be living in?

MSU, still the worst team in the SEC. Who knew?

#11. I work in Starkville and live in Columbus. Don’t get me wrong, State is my 2nd or 3rd favorite team in the SEC I cheer for them on most Saturdays….but Starkville is not a place an 18 year old wants to spend 4 years given a choice. I’m currently typing this in Starkville…you know there is nothing going on in this town.

btw HailState, don’t necessarily take it as an insult. The turn around that is being done by Croom is nothing short of amazing. He has won with less talent almost every game he has won…which will increase talent.

Edsall,
That’s okay, WV has a little somethin’ special for you and the Huskies in a few weeks.
by fotodog on Oct 29, 2007 2:33 PM EDT reply actions
@ 12
if anything, your belief that state is less talented only makes being “orgeroned” even more humiliating, b/c apparently croom is doing more with less.
by gerry dorsey on Oct 29, 2007 2:47 PM EDT reply actions
Coop,
We read that the first 4 times you posted it, please move on.
Or would you rather keep arguments like FSU beat Colorado who beat OU going so we can make the point that the ACC-middln’ Noles are better than the entire Big 12 South.
Or maybe we could revisit that the Big 10 has lost 2 games to I-AA squads.
by fotodog on Oct 29, 2007 2:52 PM EDT reply actions
my conference is clearly better than your conference. i can prove it by pointing to a relatively small sample size and assuming that teams never improve, never suffer from injuries, never add players midway through the season, and never participate in games where they play better or worse than usual. also, i will ignore that match-ups and familiarity don’t play a role in games.

SpookyJuice #17 – I applaud the conflagration of thoughts that must be your mind during football season. How in the hell can you have more than one (and you have 3) favorite SEC teams? I hate every SEC team except my Alma mater, South Carolina. I hate you all. I wish every other SEC team bad things (not horrible, just bad- like the losing end of a sportsman’s fart). I only root for you when you’re playing out of conference teams, or Alabama.
You should be on that show, whatever the f it’s called, where they judge amateurs mind tricks and illusions. Hats off to you!

Ok, let me clarify for the simple
My favorite team for as long as I can remember(and always will be) the University of Alabama. No team, in or out of conference, comes close. When Vanderbilt is not playing Alabama, i like for them to play well as they usually are the underdog and play their hearts out. I also like to see State do pretty well seeing as how I’m gainfully employed by them, grew up nearby, and they hire an Alabama alum with every job opening(seemingly).
Sorta the same way most Florida fans kinda like to see South Cakolaki do well because of OBC.

South Carolina needs Vanderbilt to lose a conference game in order to have a shot at winning the East.
Yep, it sounds as funny when you say it outloud.

@ Spookyjuice
I’m pretty sure you can walk down University Drive in Starkville and find any number of bars/restaurants that would rival the Strip in Tuscaloosa or the Square in Oxford….Not that either of those places are that cosmopolitan.
by lance harbor on Oct 29, 2007 4:00 PM EDT reply actions
Spooky, there seem to be about 16,000 18-22 year olds that chose Starkville over other college towns. Also, what exactly is there for black athletes to do in T-town, or Gainesville, or anywhere else that you can’t do in Starkville? Besides play in a meaningful bowl game.

1:30pm on a Monday…yeah, it’s pretty much Mardi Gras every were else in the SEC.

Spooky, I’m also a multi-SEC fan inexplicably. First and foremost I’m actually an Ole Miss fan (despite the fact I post as “the croominator”). Born and raised in Oxford, plus a BA; cut me I bleed red and blue. I also like Alabama, being I have my master’s from there and I fell in love with Tuscaloosa. But ya gotta go where the jobs are, which brings me to my final rooting interest—Mississippi State. Yes, they DO have a habit of hiring Alabama grads, I’ve noticed! And the Egg Bowl will of course be an enormous headache for me.
Do me a favor…I won’t tell your boss about blogging during business hours if you don’t tell mine!

Haha, Deal Croominator!
State fans, don’t get all pissy. I’m glad State is coming up in the world…but Oktibbeha county is a dry county number one, number two….I’m far more likely to step in cow shit in starkville than I am in almost any other SEC city(biting my tongue on a certain college I don’t like)….and, unbiased, there are a lot more things to do on the strip, and in the city of Tuscaloosa in general than in Starkville. Hell, i wish it weren’t true…I LIVE HERE! Maybe when they build the new Ultra mall in 2009 or something(which will actually be in Lowndes) but right now…NO.
Now, I’m going to go get some food at Perry.
