FIRECOACHNICKSABAN.COM LIVES
Alabama fans move slower in the long run–Fire [NAME REDACTED] went up in a matter of days following the ill-fated hiring of [NAME REDACTED] at Florida. However, for fast-twitch muscle fiber, no fanbase can rival that of the Crimson Tide’s: www.firecoachnicksaban.com went live on Sunday the 23rd, mere hours after the Tide lost to Georgia in overtime at Bryant-Denny Stadium in The Britney Game.
The site says “Nick’s middle initial is L. That stands for a ‘lil overrated.” This starts with an ‘A’, but we’re not the language police around here, or even the logic police. If you’d like to start off the site with loss one, then that’s your right, you proxy server lovin’ anonymous person, you. (Hey, at least we hide in plain sight.)
Just don’t accuse Georgia players of drinking Frappuccinos. That’s beyond the pale, really, especially when we guess Mark Richt, like most coaches, would drink weak Maxwell House from a clogged raingutter if he had to to get his caffeine fix. Sleep deprivation makes you surprisingly accommodating in the coffee department.
UPDATE! Mystery solved.

I wonder if this guy realizes that thanks to the magic of a no buyout clause contract firing Saban would still fleece the university and leave their budget so low for another coach they couldn’t afford Mike Dubose’s Millsaps salary.
I wonder if this is run by the same guy who Saban called out for calling coaches to complain in the middle of the night.

Geez….
Either this is a farce site by some SEC rival fans or the mouth-breathing contingent of the Bama Nation sure didn’t take long to surface once Bama had a loss!
From what I’ve seen, all the Bama fans are still 100% behind Saban and any of them with any sense knew we’d finish something like 8-4 this season. Hell, most folks were just glad to see the Tide come back in the second half and take the Dogs into OT….

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that this was not done by Bama fans. First and foremost, no one would put a picture of the Bear like that on a website. It’s blasphemous.
Also, though, don’t those stats on the page look strikingly similar to what au and lsu fans (and tosubuckeyes poster) have been ranting about for months? I agree with Tarpon. Someone should have anticipated this happening.

Holy shit – someone used all of my material. Someone has sat back and gathered all of my research on the overrated, over hyped Saban.
Honestly, that is not my site, but 100 cocktails to the owner.
If it were my site, I would include the fact that Saban won 1/2 of NC without having to beat a conference champion and 1 of his 2 SEC titles came in a year where he lost 3 conference games…reckon the SEC was down a little that year?
The bottom line is that Saban has a product to sell – it’s called the Nick Saban Guide to Success (just read his book) and he has packaged that product nicely around his accomplishments while at LSU (I contend that a fertile recruiting area and the SEC being down had just as much to do with his success).
Nick Saban is a salesman – he is no different that coach Fran (just take Fran and add 1/2 of a MNC and a couple of cheap SEC titles).
Nick Saban was out coached by Mark Richt, period. Richt was on the road, had a younger team, had some key injuries, a younger QB, a questionable secondary, and was ranked 22nd.
Truth be told, if #86 catches any one of those 4 drops it’s a totally different game. If the DB doesn’t commit an unnecessary PI on 4th down, Bama never ties the game.
I hate to tell you this Bama fans, but Saban is not what the Media and everyone else has built him up to be…of course those building him up are either Bama fans or people who are friends of his.
Bama has not even faced a legitmate team yet. And Saban is 1 play away from 2-2.

Guided Toledo to a winning record his first season as a head coach. Took over an underacheiving Spartan team that had sanctioned itself, and in the previous four years had their best record at .500. Yeah. And then Saban made up the rules to the BCS and made sure his team played a non-conference champion!
Then lost to Georgia, who despite all their problems was a preseason #13 team. Yeah they must have no talent! And Alabama was like absolutely loaded with talent at all positions-no walk-on RBs starting at safety or a former WR starting at OLB….
please, Alabama fans know what we are getting with Saban. Sort of like the Tressel joker at Ohio State who I contend has a fertile recruiting area and the Big Ten has perhaps 3 good teams in it a year….but his product of sweater vests is not as sexy. Hell he could only win a National Championship with the ref’s help.

Bottom line: a Saban coached Bama is infinitely better than a Shula/Price/Fran/Dubose coached Bama. No question about it. We actually look like we know what we’re doing out there (exception noted on the 1st drive of Jawga game).
I actually had a few UGA fans tell me the game shouldn’t have been that close. They are right. If JPW hits 30% of the missed passes to wide open WRs we win easily.

I love this shit. Yeah, and if ole Tripp Chandler catches 30% of the passes that hit him in the hands / chest / face Bama fans wouldn’t have been forced to later shower the field in liquor bottles cause that shit would have been in the bag before the big spoon threw that beautiful beautiful ball in OT.
There is no doubt that Saban is a step up from Fran – the Gil Gunderson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_recurring_characters_from_The_Simpsons#Gil_Gunderson)
of college football – but lets not backtrack from days of yore – the Sistine Bear is indeed Bama’s impression of their new coach, who’s power derives from God, who passed it to the Bear, who now passes it to Saban – all other attempts to do so be damned. The song will change when Bama beats LSU . . . and locks down the west . . . right? Cause you’re still counting on that one . . . right?

Once again, rival fans bring up “the Bear” and rant on and on about how obsessed Bama fans are with him.
In Bama, Bryant is history. We’re proud of it but it was long enough ago that we are ready to move on.
We have a new coach who at the very least has some idea of how to run a major program.
For the record, we supported Shula despite all logic up until the end.
Fran had great support but bolted because the NCAA left the door open to come back with more sanctions and he knew that seven future NFL lineman had just graduated and he might have to work harder.
Mike Dubose blamed God for the loss to Tennessee on national television. What fan base would have supported that for another year?
Gene Stallings stepped down after a helluva run, unfortunately in the wake of NCAA violations involving $100 and a signature on a napkin. (Ahem, NCAA free house at USC, nevermind.)
Bill Curry couldn’t take the heat, left to become the highest paid coach in college football, att he time, at Kentucky and never amounted to anything.
Ray Perkins? I don’t even know b/c that was a loooong time ago.

39 – I don’t get it. What has Bama done that they didn’t do a year ago? Outside of not quite giving the game away again against Arkansas it’s been remarkably similar. Blowout win against awful team, victory over Vandy, tight game that came down to the closing seconds against Arkansas and a tough loss to a good team (this time at home instead of on the road). Saban may or may not win a West title before he bolts, but you guys overpaid.

Bama93 says:
#42 – good question. I think while the record may currently be the same the actual play of the team is the difference. If you watched every singe game over the past 4 seasons, you would know that we never got better during a single game/season. It appeared no adjustments were made and thus the second half always went to the opponent. Additionally, games against “weaker” foes were not given. If Shula was still coach, we would have needed a 4th quarted TD by the defense to secure a 24-13 win over Western Carolina.
This season the team is improving and has not given up in the 4th quarter (see Ark and UGA). No realistic fan thought we would run the table this season, but I think 8-4 will be a solid 1st season for Saban after the previous decade of debacles.
#40 – 30% of 3 would be 1 completion and I don’t think that would have drastically changed the game.
