I love Wooderson; the man is just gloriously deranged.

But even he is missing the Weiss Master Plan here. But I've figured it out....

Notre Dame is not as bad as they look, they know that they will get a bowl birth almost no matter what. So the plan is: suck it up, get a crappy team in a bowl and then beat them and snap that massive streak of losing bowl games!

It's pure genius. So look out Rice or Central Michigan, Notre Dame is coming.

Wooderson:

I did not forget the losing streak to Notre Dame, nor the other awful one to ucla. That one lasted eight games or so. But, as bad as USC was, they were never as bad as your Weis-led Domies.

After going through those awful streaks, it makes the current situation with Pete Carroll and Company so much sweeter.

All programs go through ups and downs, and now it is your turn.

When USC was losing a lot, we were not delusional and constantly reliving the glory MNC days. USC went through a difficult period, until USC got the right coach who was able to motivate and recruit and keep in LA all of the talent that was taking off to other universities.

Sure, Notre Dame gets a lot of press, even locally, I am in LA. But, who wants that level of bad press?

Your ND players are not holier than everyone else. This year you had players arrested for prostitution, drugs and alcohol. Yeah, a bunch of brainiacs you have there at ND.

Notre Dame wins a MNC, and then you will laugh at me? That would be a possibility if you had Urban Meyer, or another proven winner. It will never happen with your current Curly Joe clown of a coach.

As Notre Dame goes down the tubes, try to have a little class and take your beating like a man, and stop blaming the Black Man.

SKLM-

How soon you forget 13 straight years of being unable to beat ND.

Yes the OL situation IS willingham's fault.

Asa result ,we'll be starting multiple underclassmen on saturday.
Congrats to Ty on his success at UW with Juco mercenaries, some of which couldn't even qualify academically at that school. He was never going to get those at ND, and he was already looking for another job in 2004 before he was fired. Ty quit on ND, and should have been fired a lot sooner than he was.

Yeah, Nd looks like shit right now. but we're not "heading down a dark path" as you people like to say.please, keep on hating. We'll still get more press than you and when we do finally win a national title, I will laugh my ass off at all of you.

Anonymous IV # 47: Ty is laughing nowadays a lot more than Cheeseburber Charlie, that is for sure. Ty was a proven college football coach winner. While, Charlie was new to the college football game, and in the NFL was a spear-carrier, never a leader of men. He has bungled the Notre Dame job and perhaps sent the program down a path that that will permanently keep it in the second or third tier of college football teams. This year, he lost the team, and not just Demetrious Jones. There will be more de-commits and possibly more transfers.

ProfKid 93: As a USC(w) fan, I hope people like you are able to keep Weis in the ND job for as long as possible. Dead last in all key offensive categories, led by a supposedly offensive minded genius. But, it is the fault of the Black Man from THREE years ago?! The only genius I see in Weis was his ability to snooker the feeble minded ND administration to give him a 10-year deal. Imagine if he actually beats a top 10 team? If that ever happens, Cheeseburger Boy will probably ask for a 20-year contract with Saban-like provisions, and the feeble minded administration will probably give it to him! Ha!!!!!

And one more thing. That leperchaun of a mascot has got to be the worst in college football. Why embarass a kid making him wear that outfit? He is a prime target for ridicule, a lot worse than typical male cheerleaders who also get a good amount of ridicule, even by their own fans. Have some mercy and give that kid the rest of the year off.

ProfKid93,

It wasn't Keith Gilbertson who recruited Jake Locker to Washington; but Gilbertson left U-Dub in a worse state than Ty did ND. Ty has his deficiencies (e.g. clock management, holier than thou attitude - "ok") but he seems to be building a decnt team in year 3 after inheriting a 1-11 squad.

The animosity towards Willingham isn't racist. The degree of it, compared with that directed toward Davie and Weiss, IS racist. This "smoke" has been around ND fans for decades. The "fire" has been on message boards for 5 years.

Weis is having a bad year. Ty's team has at least won a game. But are we really arguing about which one of the two is a better recruiter?

Just look at the recruiting classes they've brought in. Argue about other things, but that is a non-issue.

#48 I'd say in both cases there are some legimate complaints against the black coaches. However in both cases the fervor of the hatred that they provoke is what makes some of it look like racism to me. Not all of it of course, but some of it for sure.

There was no PC crowd that saved Dorrell's job. Winning 10 games a couple of years ago and beating USC last year did that. The interweb impression that people get is scewed by a few freaks that put a huge amount of time and effort into attacking him. UCLA is basically a basketball school that has had some good years in football but isn't an elite program. It drives them nuts that USC is. Unreasonable Bruin fans look at the winning streak they had going when USC was down and think that that can become the normal situatiion.

Ty seemed to be able to recruit to Stanford and he has certainly pulled in a good quarterback at Washington. And the fan revolt against Ty hurt his recruiting at ND towards the end. Who was it that pulled in Quinn and all the beloved superstars of the past two years?

OC Phil, that is not my point. My point was Notre Dame has and continues to take a crapload for firing Ty whereas UCLA has done what the PC crowd wanted ND to do, and gotten not much to show for it. If this were Ty's fifth year at ND we'd be in even worse shape than UCLA because Dorrell, unlike Ty, can recruit.

Ty may indeed turn out to be better than Weis, but that won't mean he's a good coach - it'll mean Weis is the shittier of two shitty coaches.

Taking Responsibility Dept:

Weis said in his news conference that: "...he takes full responsibility...." for the loss, which is a load of crap. What does that mean? He ought to return his paychecks for the past few months. Being dead last in college football does not a "genius" make.

Meanwhile at the Mich-ND game, at one point, there was the following rhythmic chant that rocked the Big House:

"Tyrone's better! Tyrone's better!''

As Notre Dame goes through its "Burying the Echoes" losing tour, that chant should be yelled constantly at each venue, before it is yelled at South Bend towards the eight game or so losing streak!
