DAILY AFFIRMATION: DAY 1

Orson Swindle and Stranko Montana are two men pushing thirty who should know better than to run a college football blog, but evidently don't. Both graduated from the University of Florida, and both agree that college football is far too important to be left to the professionals.

Hey #39 -
Did Bama tie Notre Dame in the ‘73 Sugar Bowl? If they did, you have an apt analogy. Who won the ‘73 MNC us or you?
P.S. the Miss St. QB position should be open tryouts this week. I could limit my int.s to 5 no problem and still lose only 45 - 0.

Just wondering how many other schools can say they won a national championship in an undefeated season, beating the defending national champion in the bowl game to win the national championship.
Texas did it in 2005 right? Ohio State in 2002, 1968…any others? Remember UNDEFEATED in the regular season and then deflower the defending NC in the bowl game. That is a real man’s national champion. Everyone else is a bunch of pussies…

Did I mention that USC was the defending national champion in 1968? As was Miami in 1992.

Aside from all partisan fun in this thread, I’d just like to give a hearty thanks to the entire EDSBS crew for getting us through the Long Summer Winter. Ladies and gentelemen, we’re here, we’ve arrived, and it feels damn good.

Did I miss something? What does beating Troy have to do with winning the SEC?

Ah, 1968, 10-0, National Champions, beat USC 27-16 in the Rose Bowl. What a great year!

Finally Tosu gets it. Schedule opponents that are in on par with your skill set.

I want so badly to join in this little discussion and lay down some serious Bama/Saban hatred and debunk the myth that the SEC is on the same level as the Colts and the rest of college football plays two-hand touch with cement boots, but seriously, I have shit to attend to.
I have a cooler that needs prepping and I’m heading over to the library later this afternoon to get my game face on.
Youngstown State - prepare to get Tresselballed motherfuckers…It’s on.

mp, losingto MNC runner up USC with 3 seconds lefti n the game is “not hanging with talent”?
Whooping UT two years in a row is “not hanging with talent”?
God I love the hate. Every year peopel try to say we’re over-rated and every time we prove them wrong.
And for the record everyone makes bad hiring decisions, USC was “irrelevant” and going to various low level bowls for nearly a decade. Bama has had it’s fair share of sub 500 seasons.
And I guarantee you we could win the SEC. WE’d feast upon the likes of troy, western carolina and appalachain state before our titanic clashes with MSU, ole Miss, arkansas. you need to win two big games to get out of the SEC. stone.

if Notre Dame was in the SEC they would be comparable to Ole Miss, .500 in conference would be considered a success, that program is such a fucking joke- look no further than the Sugar Bowl last year or when they played
Oregon State during Erickson’s tenure-wooderson your team can’t hang with talent, and thats not going to change

You’re right about one thing - I’m struggling to make sense of your post - as well as your curious aversion to capital letters and proper punctuation.
