DAILY AFFIRMATION: DAY 4
I’m…sailing awayyyy…
Looking for a fade route
Or my hot read slant…
In four days, we all go sailing with the Dread Pirate Leach.

Jorgé the Bass Player says:
Whatever. In 2 days I’ll be drinking at a furious pace when LSU visits Starkville with my daughter’s Christmas on the line.
I can only hope that MSU’s Three and Out Offense (patent pending) and sheepskin condom defense show up and give me the blowout I’ve been bugging Jebus about the last two weeks.

In my three years at SMU, this is the only Mustang football game I’ve ever wanted to attend — whenever someone asks me if I want to go to a game, I reply “Why would I want to go to a high school game?”
Alas…or should I say, Aargh, I’ve agreed to be at a world championship goat cookoff instead.

Alas, baconboy’s attitude is typical of SMU Fan*, despite the fact they put a decent product on the field last year. That’s why Ford Stadium will be overrun by followers of the Dread Pirate Leach come Monday afternoon.

Red Raider 1: Yeah, seriously, what’s with the pirate shit?
Mike Leach: Yearg- Ya know, I’m not really sure.
Red Raider 2: Well, maybe it’s just me. I must be out of the loop. Maybe I missed a meeting?.
Mike Leach: No, no. It, it’s a valid question.
Red Raider 1: So, um, what now?
Mike Leach: Um….. I, don’t…. YEARGHH!

Red Raider, perhaps I should clarify…I already have a degree from UF (I’m doing doctoral work at SMU), so pretty much everything pales in comparison. And if 6-6 in the Conference USA is a decent product…I think you’ve proven my point. Perhaps I’ve become a football snob, but if you were in Gainesville in the 1990s, you’d be too.

International Talk Like A Pirate Day is the same day as Halo 3 coming out? I get the Pimps At Sea reference now. Did anyone see the Entourage where Jackson is at the WETA studios and they’re filming motion capture for a pirate looking video game?
Oh yeah, my Bday is thursday. Do I ask for Madden or NCAA? Anyone played both and can give me a rec?

Yes, baconboy, it’s really easy to be a fan when your team is winning. I like to think of myself as the best fan in college football, since I’ve been going to every SMU home game, and many away games, both while in school from 90-94 and since I moved back to Dallas in 1999.
As for “high school,” I think SMU has a winning record against the SEC since coming back from the death penalty. Sure, it was Vandy and several wins against Arkansas, but I don’t think we’ve had any SEC challengers since.
Seriously, feel free to stop by our tailgate on the Boulevard, fully equipped with satellite tv, any time this season.

Re #18
Just relate the impending Croom buyout to accounting. How will the balance sheet and/or income statement be affected by the contract buyout, etc, etc. Just put it in terms of debits and credits and you’re golden…

Okay, I went back and did some fact checking, and I had blocked out the 2 seasons we played Ole Miss and lost. But SMU is 4-4 against the Hogs moved to the SEC, so maybe I’m just smack-talking the people who wear the plastic pigs on their heads (who includes, by the way, my uncle-in-law who publishes Hogs Illustrated).
Cut me some slack. I rarely have an opportunity to smack-talk anyone once football season actually starts.
