D-MAC’S RIDE MAKES THE HATERS COME OUT
Darren McFadden is Humanity Advanced, so we are not surprised to find the Arkansas Razorback RB demands that his automobile reflect the dedication of someone bound and determined to stretch the limits of engineering.
Or failing that, at least McFadden will squeeze every ounce of recoverable pimp juice from the humble frame of what appears to be a Ford Taurus. Correction: commenters leaning towards Crown Vic, which is even better.
Presenting: Midsize American Sedan-ity Advanced. (HT: Stephen)

I will be paying for a new vanity plate in excess bicep muscle, sir.

Looks more like a Ford Crown Victoria. Not positive though. Still, tell me that these supposedly poor college football players aren’t receiving kick backs if they are driving around shit like this. It’s an early 90s Crown Vic. You can get a clean one for under $5000 even in the DC area, which would leave plenty of budget for a respray, lift set, 30 inch rims (at least!), and a sound system.

well from http://www.car-rims.com, those look like akuza bounce chrome 292s, and a set of four cost $1330. then you have the suspension costs of raising the car to sit on that thing. A ford crown vic isn’t light, and a suspension to hold that up will be costly. Then he probably has some expensive tires. you are looking at a substantial amount of money put into that car DC. the 5k you say that car can be picked up for is probably low cost for the rest of the upgrades.

For the most part, I’ve heard that a “donk” refers to only to Impalas since some believe that the logo resembles a kicking donkey. Though, I know some consider only Impalas and Caprices from the early 70’s as “donks”. Then come the “boxes”, 80’s Impala, Caprice, etc. that is boxed on both ends. Finally, the “bubbles”, rounded on each end like a 90’s Caprice or Impala.
Whatever you want to call it, that’s most definitely a hi-riser or skyscraper.

Steve says:
After doing some careful measuring, those wheels have to be at least 26″.
If you figure a cheap set of 26″ wheels, by going off the price on the website posted above, that’s $3k in wheels alone. The tires run about $400-$1,000 apiece, so if you figure it on the cheap side, wheels and tires alone are 5k.
The paint is at LEAST 2k as it is waaaayyy too slick to be cheap. That 2k figure is assuming someone does the labor for free.
Long post short, he’s got at least 20k in that car, including purchase price. I guarantee that he doesn’t have a job.

Mi daughters are 5 and 2 1/2. They don’t know from shame. In fact, the 5 year old has been lobbying for a Crown Vic since we rented on in Michigan 2 years ago.
a nice first vehicle for a daughter who’s starting to get out of line.
Yeah, because what every 16 year old girl needs is her own Mystery Machine with a mattress in the back. If they want to get laid in a car they can find a boy with a pickup or something.
Do you get a sweet “World’s best dad” long sleeve T when you buy a ride like that?
No, but my wife – who really wanted a Mini Cooper S 5 years ago but got knocked up instead – gets a “this is the price of breeding in the burbs” shirt. On the plus side, I get rid of my POS ‘96 Audi, and inherit the extra hott Saab wagon from the missus… which is actually an improvement, even though I don’t like driving automatics.

#85 and #86: There’s also the possibility that he paid for it with these new-fangled devices called “credit cards,” which are handed out like flyers to a kegger on pretty much every college campus in the U.S.
And yes, a college student could most certainly obtain a five-figure line of credit. In fact, the credit card companies count on it, and it’s why they target the college market so aggressively.
It’s not unheard of for an everyday college undergrad to rack up 40 to 50 grand in credit card debt by the time they graduate these days.

Car is a early nintys crown vic. The lift kit is usually done by taking parts from trucks and truck lift kits from junk yards as the crown vic and the ranger share a similar front end design. The wheels are 24’s as anything larger is near impossible to find and significantly more expensive (I should know I work at Discount Tire). The entire package depending on the price of the car is around 11k. And as far as being stable and driveable, the car will ride like shit but there isnt much of a danger of a rollover due to the low profile tires which reduce body roll and most importantly the car is just do damn slow with those wheels.

All you haters should be ashamed of yourselves. To each his own. Everyone has to have something and just happens this is D-MAC’s thing. I am a car guy, I have my own car taste and this is not my favorite, but it is D-MAC’s and that is great. Whether I or we like it you should respect his interests. The negative comments are childish and show you intelligence level. Black, White, Yellow, or Green does not matter. Why is this not accepted? If a white guy had a Camaro with 14 inch meats on the rear and a 671 blower out the hood so high it obstructed his view no one would bitch. So whats up? It’s all odd unless you look at the big picture. Difference and individuality is one thing that makes America great. So in closing get a grip and keep your fucking mouth shut if your a mindless idiot with nothing and no future, it’s no ones fault but your own. that is the Taco Bell in Alma, Ar where D-Mac met the shop owner( Not Al Bundy) to pick up his upgraded whip. It wasn’t from 99 it was in 07. Like one said before who really sets their camera dates? A local shop in Fort Smith did the work and has professional players from all over come in to get theirs done and this shop specializes in off road not pimp my ridz!! So stop hating cause you know if you could afford it you would come down to da Fort and get your ride hooked up too….
