MUSTACHE WEDNESDAY: ROD BECK, R.I.P.
By request, we violate our unspoken policy of not using baseball players and salute the dearly departed Rod Beck and his trademark 'stache, our Mustache Wednesday Mustache of the Day.

Happy Mustache Wednesday, motherfuckers. And Godspeed to you, Rod.

I didn’t know that Lawrence from Office Space was also a MLB pitcher?

What’s great is that Beck was ionly in his mid-20s on that there card. Yet, he looks older than Todd Jones does today.
RIP Shooter.

perhaps he played baseball, but he should be in the edsbs hall of fame for this episode of his career if nothing else. for us, tailgating is a saturdays-in-the-fall diversion, for beck, it was a way of life.

I think this is a good opportunity to suggest adding a little more variety to the Cheescake GoogleMap and paying homage to the land that birthed Latin America by featuring a Spanish Senorita.
If it wasn’t for those Conquistadors spreading their seed over 2/3’s of the Americas, where would we be now?

Shooter was a great reliever, with the hinkiest motion that totally worked. He made it worth the ride down to the Stick, but only if you bundled up.

I was on the wrong side of the Shooter in the ’93 pennant race, but I feared him. He is what you would want every ball player to be like. And yes, this is the mustache that makes other mustaches genuflect.

Shocking news. There was athlete who took care of himself.

Although I also suspect he faked his death to continue in his second life as the “Schwab.”

Great call O. Beck was one of the few athletes that actually was both a fan and a human being. An All-Star who’d crack a case of miller lite with the fans just because he could.
His presence in MLB and sports in general will be truly missed.

If that ‘stache isn’t a Collector’s Choice, I don’t know what is.

Does anyone remember his barehanded grab of a homerun in the bullpen? Every other reliever bails out as the ball zooms toward them, Beck calmly reaches up and snags it, never leaving his chair.
