yo, the sound is mad corny because:
-the second MC sounds like he just picked up a mic for the first time
-The first MC can barely finish a bar without chopping up his cadence
-John Denver? Come on. The royalties on this would be thru the roof. I could see maybe a small snippet, but the whole thing?
-The first MC challenging everyone to get their ass whooped. How original.

Wow Couchburnin’girl you are a certified idiot. First of all, Mason-dixon is the correct spelling indeed but i have heard many many people call it the Mason-Dixie. Now here comes the part where you feel dumb for living. If you had ears that worked you could easily hear that D-Why says “Got gold at the top of the dome of the cap, cause i’m from charleytown.” So let’s put it this way….I think before you criticize music, or rather listen to music at all, you should go see an Otologist. Don’t try to make funny remarks about a song when you don’t even know the words to it.

And if you all don’t like this song that’s fine, just don’t criticize it when you don’t know what you’re talking about. How about you all check out their other music and see if you feel the same about it as you do about this? I bet you won’t…

the comments of each of you putting down and discrediting this song are not only ignorant but lacking in rationality. ive heard just a few reasonings behind the negativity being displayed by you naysayers. First and foremost you bash the song because of the fact that you hold stereotypical views of West Virginia as a state. Secondly, you are dragging the song through the mud because you either dont care for hiphop as a form of music or are just not intelligent enough or hold enough knowledge of the state of West Virginia to accurately know what the meanings are in the verses.

In the first verse there are many plays on names of WV towns such as Nitro, War, and others. Those of you lacking the knowledge of WV geography fail to see the clever use of those names in crafting a solid verse. The second verse was a WV history lesson of sorts, citing such things as Chuck Yeager, the state capitols gold dome in Charleston, the amount of counties we have, etc, etc, etc.

I dare one person with negative comments about this song to come with a sound and reasonable argument as to your dislike of it. This argument should include not only reasoning but a knowledge of things West Virginia over a 2nd grade level. It would be appreciated. Oh and before the detractors decide that Im commenting based on the fact that im associated with hiphop, these artists possibly, or any other reaason, just know that this song isnt one of my favorites but I respect it. Hell I dont even care for one of the artists personally as in I actually know him. However I will not sit by and let a bunch of ignorant, close-minded, or unknowledgeable idiots drag a significant peice of WV artistry through the mud. Thanks for the time mindless flock

You people may not have liked the song, but then you go on a rant about nonsense as if the places that you live are the most immaculate locations in the USA. Get real, a lot of you people probably thought that West Virginia was the western part of Virginia until you watched ESPN and saw some highlights. I’m not saying West Virginia is the pillar of culture existence, but that hasn’t stopped out of state business ventures from coming in and buying up land, and let’s not forget the massive tourism that comes through the state every year. Oh, West Virginia University has a high out of state enrollment because schools in other states charge way too much for the same (or lesser) amount of education.
